Anyone make these? Cough cough Al? π Who made the original? Is it on a site? Are the plans available? Iβve seen a fair amount of stuff where you can buy the plans and then make the items.

I came across it a few months back on the interweb thingy, think it was in Europe, I just took a screen shot of it - I thought it looked neat.

I think a tuning fork logo instead of the honeycomb, or a clear window to see the oil pump doing it's shizzle? Andy.

Looks like it would be a pretty simple part to model at first glance, but I wonder why they printed it in that orientation as the layer lines look awful. I would probably have printed if flat on the mounting flange in ABS and then acetone smoothed it.
It's something I may have a go at as I don't have that cover on my Mito 350 as it's got a oil pump delete fitted.

Good detective work, just need someone to print a few now, ideally with 421, Ypvs, LC, 400 etc..

An update on this one. Spoke too soon in my last post. 5 hours into the print it had a filament clog or jam - the joys of 3D printing π€ Colin

Not to be deterred though, I tried printing in the orientation that the stl creator showed. I had a couple of early failures with bed adhesion which are due to warping with the relatively small contact area of the piece, so ended up using a 25mm brim around the piece. I actually got 8 hours in this time and the results were fantastic - right up to the point the print broke free from the bed again π€. I've got a few more ideas to try though!! Colin

That really does look π It actually looks much better in real life than in the photos. The fluorescent lights in the room have added some strange visual effects. Colin

always love this stuff, lovely work so far. What a shame it didnt complete. I don't give up that easily - got a few more things to try! That's the joy of 3D printing. There are so many parameters you can change, so it's just a case of tweaking until you get a particular print dialled in. I printed the part in a material called ASA, which is a UV stabilised version of ABS, and is good for 100 degrees C applications. I've currently only got a spool in grey but will order some black this week. Colin

We have lift off, or rather we don't have lift off π Glue stick and 30 minute heat soak of the chamber at 80 degrees C made the difference. Colin

A few more photos of the finished piece. The only thing I'm unsure about is the textured surface at the top, which is transferred from the build plate. Colin

Thatβs really great. Would look excellent in black material.
Iβd have one in a flash had I not spent ages a while back tracking down some billet ones.

No problem. I assume you're wanting them in black? I was going to offer to send you one anyway as I need someone to test the fit over the oil pump etc.
