I can't believe it but the next issue of 'Practical Sportsbikes' is going to be the last!
Apparently down to costs. It's the only bike mag i buy now and has been for some time, i know i'm not alone in this. It's a real shame.
I've just had a gas bill this morning and now this, plus Ukraine, no Irish road racing, what the F**K is going on with this world at the moment. It just seems to be one piece of s**t news after another!

Whaat😲 That is a shock. Only mag I buy too. It has changed a bit in recent years, with an Editor change, and it's not quite as good as it was, but still more chance of 2 stroke related articles than any other bike mag. Real shame😥

Copied from Facebook.
ANNOUNCEMENT: The April issue of PS goes on sale next Wednesday (March 8) and is due with subscribers imminently. I am gutted to inform you that it will also be the final issue, as Bauer Media has concluded it is no longer viable to produce it. The deciding factors are simple, and beyond our control as an editorial team: the cost of printing, and to a lesser extent distribution, have increased dramatically in the last 18 months or so for any printed product. Our sales performance has been strong – we posted an 18% circulation increase in 2021, and our 2022 figures were good too, but the economics we're dealing with have forced our hand. There simply isn’t a way to balance the books, and still produce PS the way we want to. Subscriptions will be transferred to our sister title Classic Bike for the remainder of their duration in the first instance; a separate letter will be sent detailing this in full, with contact details for any queries. Commercial advertisers will also be contacted directly in the coming days. Please don’t contact editorial staff direct about these matters – only the relevant departments can help. All that’s left is for me to thank the PS team: Alan, Damian, Gary, Jim, Mark and Simon in particular have put heart and soul into producing the best mag we can. I’d also like to thank everyone who’s supported the mag: buying a copy or two, getting directly involved by telling us your stories, and letting us see/ride your bikes. No other title has ever been so directly reliant on its own readership to fill pages, and you’ve always stepped up and made what we do possible. You’ve been brilliant. Thank you.

Very sad news. I used to get CMM but after Rod Gibson passed away it went down hill.
Just googled it: Rod passed away in 2009 😲

Sad news, this was probably the last of the mainstream publications to be directly relevant to the genre of machinery we are all interested in/ focused on ☹️

I agree with the content change. That happened when Chris Newbiggin took over I think. In my opinion, it was a better mag when Jim Moore was in charge. It's well known that Jim is a massive Lc fan, and regularly included articles. But it was still the most in touch out of all the "classic" bike mags. I find MCM a bit boring to be honest, and will only buy it if there is a good Lc/Pv article. Would love to read the last ever edition, but as always it still hasn't arrived. I know the editorial team have nothing to do with the people that post the prepaid mags, but I often get mine delivered after it comes out in the shops Really crap service in that respect Dusty

I sadly cancelled when it included PB if I wanted to know about the latest fastest thing I’d buy the appropriate magazine. It lost its way but I occasionally buy a copy and bought last months. Lobbed loads of them away recently ( just as they get collectible 😁). I also cancelled classic bike at the same time. I’m surprised they haven’t done a version for you tube tests of bikes interviews with owners etc etc etc.

Just to repeat what a few have already said really. It is/was pretty much the only magazine I buy. Now and again there will be an article in another that catches my eye (like a midget with an umbrella ) and I'll buy it but it might be once a year. Again, as others have said it had gone downhill a bit in recent times but every time I thought about not bothering I ended up buying it. I guess I'm going to be a few quid better off every month. At least It'll help pay for an hours worth of electricity.

Opened the envelope with the last edition in it
Yes it says its the last, yes it's full of goodbye shite and yes it's bigging up classic bike but...
No note from Bauer, nothing anywhere advising subscribers
Cheeky shites wanting it just to carry over without telling you 😡

Weird thing for me they printed it on really thin paper with stinky ink that made it look cheapo and colours never looked right
Only me then LOL
