Well, I'm so impressed with how the MT350 is turning out and just how well she rides that I got carried away that MT2 is in progress.
Early days yet, and it'll be a bit of a slow burner, but will feature some slight tweaks with the design and build to the original.
I've got most of what I need and will post updates here as she progresses.

It looks like you are going in to production with these builds. Hopefully you can do the build without needing to chop up an LC chassis to hold the engine in place.

I have a cunning plan using a piece of frame that was donated for Mk1 which I'm hoping to mate with another spare piece of frame from Yamman 🤞🏻 It's all about recycling rather than destroying.

Been working on devising an engine cradle from a tie bar section of frame I'd got in my stash of bits. Went to a company near Rugby on Wednesday called Tube Bender (yep, they bend tubes!) and a really helpful chap there called James made me some 90° sections of 21.4mm OD 3mm wall tube which I thought might give me a start. After much deliberation, it seems like I'm heading in the right direction. Brackets to marry the horizontal tube section at the rear will fix to the original bottom engine mounts on the frame cross tube. Just need to fathom out the top mount situation now but it's looking promising. I'm working towards maybe deleting the MT sidestand and going YPVS style, that way, it might be possible to use standard fitment pipes rather than having to get a bespoke set made. Time will tell if this is going to be feasible.

Top engine cradle rails almost sorted, need to sort out some lateral bracing then tidy it all up ready for welding.

Was it not possible to go straight up with the front sub frame tubes and bolt to the brackets under the main frame behind the headstock?

Was it not possible to go straight up with the front sub frame tubes and bolt to the brackets under the main frame behind the headstock? I suppose pretty much anything's possible, but the brackets you mention are mounts for the original radiator, I wouldn't fancy hanging an engine from them. Anyway, I wanted it like this

I like the way that the front sub frame tubes look like they line up with the rear subframe.

I like the way that the front sub frame tubes look like they line up with the rear subframe. I tried really hard to get them absolutely in line and although it was possible, the engine would have been a very tight fit and it would have to come out to take the top end off, so I settled for "almost" in line while leaving just enough room to get the head off with the engine in situ

I think that allowing for maintenance is very important and a lot of people forget that when building special vehicles. I learned that the hard way.

The frame reminded me of this classic Yam unit which ive always wanted to build up a running one... and then drag round to my mates BBQs to smoke out their neighbours! (from rd350lc.net of course)

Haha, Id have built a sturdier version with tie bars... and longer out the back to hang the pipes too. Mine wouldnt have been a cutaway, it would have run Amusingly, you can see that yam's apprentices didnt get this one quite right first go and added the forward loop to stop it falling on its rad lol

Started getting stuck into the electrics today, Zeel, Reg/Rec and Electrexworld stator now largely plumbed in. The last thing for this evening was to form a box section from a sheet of ABS which will ultimately house the main fuse. This box section will be bonded to the back piece of the original MT125 fuse box so it will neatly clip into place.

This weekend was all about wiring. Splicing together elements of MT125, YPVS, Zeel and KOSO. So far so good...... Still a long way to go but the Zeel's all plumbed in and we've got turn signals and a dash. Not done the lights yet as I want to streamline that area as significantly as possible for which I've a few ideas to work through.

RUN AWAY!!!!!! It's taking longer than it should as I'm trying to reduce the amount of wires going from front to back as much as possible. It's also tight for loom space so once I've got it to the minimum, I'll run some down each side so I have two slim looms rather than one fat one.

Back in the day I used to create prototype wiring harnesses for test equipment and I always found the best approach was to draw everything first. Then start repositioning the parts to reduce the number of long cable runs. then repeat the process a bunch of times to establish the best layout.
