Each time I pick up these yokes I think they're just so heavy & decided to do something about it and make my own.. This should be fun. Yokes material by KTM Marky, on Flickr

If it's RGV then the yoke is made from pig iron !

Only just read this thread through. Awesome skills, and attention to detail So good when you can fabricate your own parts to such a high standard. This will be another fantastic build And get well soon Dusty

I now have some handlebar risers/clamps. Ti bolts to suit on order. Pretty much have the headstock and steerer sorted I think now.

Very nice.
I did similar with my clock mounts on my 421LC and recessed them into the top clamp about halfway to get the clocks closer to the bars.
Martin, FYI the base JDM and SP models came with alloy lower triples.

Good thought thx & I'm going to get these yokes fully fitted and set up before I make my own so your point about the clock mounts I'll address when I know where they sit now. I'm using Renthal 758 (I think) bars.. Ti bolts just ordered up for the yokes & I think I'll make myself a new front wheel spindle and get that centred before sending the wheels off for powder coating, so at least then I can try and get the correct offset discs instead of using a spacer ring.

..looking at these pictures I think I'll turn off half the thread length and open up the corresponding female thread section to lighten the two parts so it'll have a larger hole looking at it from the outside like the hex end.
I will also run a boring tool up to smooth out the internal surfaces.

As I wait for powder coated wheels and yolks though I’d have some time on the motor. I think we can call this disassembled. It’s a Fahron tuned 400cc with Banshee pistons and twin 28 Keihins.

14mm Reamer for the gear selector shaft bush. I didn’t think I had much play on the shaft but what a difference the bush makes.
Happy to help anyone out who wants their case opened up to suit the bush.

Think I’ll pop the motor in and create a bit of work space elsewhere.

I now have powder coated wheels, new tyres, bearings etc. I’m happy with the perspective of wheel/tyre width thankfully.
