Well, I've been testing a number of cars this week. The order has gone in for a new Tesla Model 3.
I know some people don't like electric cars, but I'd suggest you try one before knocking it. Can't see me go backing to a legacy ICE car now. Not giving up bikes of course.
Pity I won't get it before Christmas though.

I have driven several sorry they just don’t do it for me. I know they are the future or something similar and I know the family car a diesel is likely to be a petrol hybrid but for now I’m happy. Enjoy the Tesla though 👍

Im not massively excited about Electric power for a car, Id like that in a bike tho just to go locally, im weird like that and know thats not a popular thing to say here. My issue with charging a car is that its a slow charge no matter how fast it happens as its not the 2-3mins i can fill a petrol tank, and it uses a lot of fossil fuels and the draw would decimate the grid power if we all had them. Maybe hydrogen is the actual future... hmm... FWIW We have had a price reduction on Model 3s here as they are now also made in China, and its said better made than the usa models - that doesnt bode well for teslas lol. While all manufacturers seem to have wait lists, Tesla has a large dock side car park full of model 3s... not drawing any conclusions about that, just read it as fact last week. Anyway none of that discussion has 5 liters or a V8 in it...
Tim, hows summer hammering found in a modern classic british sportscar? Bliss i bet!

Ahh that sounds lovely, doesnt get much better I'd say. I bet youre happy with your choice. I drove my Tamora through the winter (Can n Fiddle in a blizzard etc) so as long as your heater works these can be all year rides. Really makes me want one again thinking about it. Ahh I expect thats the Carwow drag races? Ive watched a bunch of them as I get them in my feed, he did one against an Evo which was truly awful lol. Quite why youd drag race a rally car i dont know, but i guess its easy content to make lol Anyway, the E46 M3 is a glorious car, I'd happily have one of those. I had an M coupe version of the E46 3.0 which i loved, bought it from a mate as needed a car for honeymoon as we came over to UK/EU for it, drove 6k miles in a month and sold it for what i paid for it. Happy days. I think we might need more TVR pics...

First 5mins I saw lots of cool cars, mostly 90's JDM stuff. The next 20 mins i saw them all again, over and over... we were all doing the same thing. People cutting their lawns and pruning hedges were getting a bit sick of performance cars bimbing round their roads by the looks of their faces lol.

I did consider that Steve but it presented two main problems, hi speed stability, get a speed wobble on and it’s gonad gravel rash painful, and if I was here all year round fabulous just slather those nads with copious amounts of lotion and I’d have a bronzed pair to be proud of, however the ever changeable weather at home would mean I’d need a convertible at least. Then factor in the rusty forest that comes with them and the drag created, hence the need for a 5.0 lt 👍

My Tesla Model 3 arrived on Thursday, 3 months earlier than they reckoned. Think I may have got a cancelled order, but right colour, spec and tow bar.
I'm loving it, and get to put a smug grin on as I pass the queues at the petrol stations.
Wish I'd filled the bikes up though, 4 bikes and only the 1927 Scott has more than 20 miles of fuel left in it.

Did you see that program where Guy Martin drove from Lands End to John O'Goats? and he reckoned he could of done it cheaper in a diesel rather than the electric car he used? But if you cant buy diesel or petrol or the queues are a mile long.... you are golden

Did you see that program where Guy Martin drove from Lands End to John O'Goats? and he reckoned he could of done it cheaper in a diesel rather than the electric car he used? But if you cant by diesel or petrol or the ques are a mile long.... you are golden Yes I did. Although I like local boy Guy, and his programmes, I think that one was poor. I get about 4 to 4.5 miles per KWH. A KWH costs me 15p at home (soon to be 5p with Octopus Go) or free if I'm charging off the solar panels. If I use the Tesla superchargers it's 30p a KWH. So if fuel is aprox £6.00 per gallon, I get 20 KWH at a tesla supercharger or 40 at home, soon to be 120 for my £6.00 So at 4 miles per KWH, that's the equivalent of 80 MPG, 160MPG or 480MPG.

If I remember it right, Guy said he'd been charged 70p per kWh at some points!!

Watched the Guy Martin thing
Was shocked at what they were charging and how much below the rated charge rates he was getting
FFS I've dropped to the speed limit and played the miles to empty gamble. As long as it says there is 10 miles more left than the distance home I ain't stopping for diesel.
What's the chances I'll be stopping to plug it in for an hour to get half a charge 🖕
In fact let's face it, I'm hanging on to a 40 year old oil burning two stroke, a cat or a dpf is too modern for me
I've just scraped in managing to order a new diesel company car as my work is now going hybrid for everything 😀

Waited a long long time to get the buell, I have so nearly bought one and been persuaded otherwise by Spondon440 Andy on here as well as his best mate Maz who is renowned as being the go to guru of buells. So when Andy offered me his it was a no brainer and it’s as fun as it looks. Having a few electrical gremlins with the tiv nothing but a little time that I can’t sort but hey ho it’s no longer tiv weather at the moment. I love the look of the xb series and if money was no object I’d have one.

Met Maz many years ago, as I had an issue with mine, that the dealer who I got it off wouldn't agree with me that the gearbox was goosed, after dropping it off and leaving it with them for a week (brum to Southampton) they only changed the oil and fobbed me off (I'd already changed it) .....I rode up to Manchester with another Buell owner who was having Maz service his bike, he had a look at mine, confirmed it was noisy as I'd said, and basically challenged to dealer head tech guy that if he stripped it, and confirmed the diagnosis, they'd pay for the reps ..... dealer folded, took it back, and replaced half the gearbox. Good guy Maz, knows his Buell's.
