Finally just bought a tvr chimaera 5.0lt special. Collecting it next week. So excited I’ll post pics etc next weekend. Then it’ll be off to Tvr power as was, the owner is a family friend for a once over but it’s running sweetly .👍

If you pop over to Azerbaijan you can fill it and run it for 30p a litre. That engine will be very thirsty but you will know it.
Only mentioned it because it was fact mentioned on the football commentary. 😉

I've sampled the future this week. Blagged a go in a tesla model 3 performance. I'm sold. Just need to find 60 Kilo quid.
Best way to describe the way it made the horizon appear much much closer in almost no time, is like driving a video game.

Hi Tim congratulation with your new car. I own a car with with the same sort of engine, believe it or not it's surprisingly frugal if you drive it at 70 in top gear. My biggest problem was the connectors on the power management unit. Every now and then the engine would just stop. Once all the connectors was cleaned up it was fine and never played up.

I always loved the idea of a TVR and hope the reliability issues have been ironed out over the years! 🤔
I was part of a convoy of TVRs back in 2004 down to Le Mans and only 2 out of 5 broke down at some point. We even pushed one of them on to the ferry home. 😂
I have had TT convertibles ever since so feel free to take this piss and no, I am not a hairdresser. 🤣

I’m very lucky a very old family friend is the owner of what was Tvr power. I’ve grown up with them, had various sports cars incl a 911 just wanted an old skool motor. The TT is a great car nowt wrong with them. 👍

I have some in't cupboard, The chairman of the fundraising committee came across some in the reduced section, but dont want anyone to confuse me with the libtard snowflake brigade if I manage to summon up the balls/fufu/non sexual parts to try it. Might be handy on my cider and cornflakes in the morning though.... Old fella served his time at TVR late fifties.

Ahh I love a good TVR, cant wait to see pics of this one Tim! As Ive said previously, Im a Speed Six man. I did have a Rover v8 once, in a TR7 convertible, found it very frugal as has been said. burbled along with next to no revs at the legal limit and above etc. my old Tam:

My favourite is the Griffith 500, i couldn't find one at a reasonable price. I also looked at the Ginneta's, and Lotus all the ones i like were too small for me. I ended up with a Mantula.

Good old Marcos, I do like them. The griff is too much for real world driving in my opinion. I also looked at the later 6 and ajp 8 but starting to look at another £10k on top. Plus the six cylinder is almost bike like in needing revs. I’m happy. 👍 Just realised as well Tony you’ve also got your old 110?

Having realised that I wasn’t going to lease another car, nor do the miles anymore and having a great family car already I thought let’s have some fun, plus if need be I’ve just bought my lad a Vw polo so I can also use that to pop into the nearest town. I’m really excited about it.

And no room for the dogs Well... suppose you'd need a long wheel based transit to fulfil that one.

I’m really excited about it. Yes very different cars, but there is something wonderful and undeniably British about owning a TVR, ie. Its not *that* classy and its devoid of safety features lol Id have another TVR in a heartbeat, but there are so few of them here. I keep checking pistonheads for T350 as I know a Sag is a long way outa my league. I drove my Tam hard in the UK and EU (the pic above is in France, see the champagne vines lol), it was a noisy and lairy brute. Perfect. Anyway, I have secret thoughts about getting another TVR and leaving it to use on the once in a blue moon trips when Im visit the UK. Sense and a quick peek into my wallet assures me that its not going to happen, but a man can hope... Im really excited for you Tim, I bloody love these cars. I even like the smell haha... thats how you know youre hooked lol.

Hi Tim, i've had a Tuscan S and a Chimp 450, they get under yer skin and i still look at TVRs now, deffo preferred the 450 over the tuscan, the engine was a peach but wished it was a 500! Lucky boy. Andy.
