Its hard the isolation but if all the end of virus will be faster Actually, just going business as usual would end the virus faster. Half of us would suffer thru and build immunity, the other half would be dead. The isolation just flattens the curve and keeps the vulnerable out of hospital and more people alive. As a society, those of us who avoid it this time are still susceptible to it next time round.

My dad is 82 and has plaques on his lungs from the asbestos they used where he worked making busses .. he's well up there in the 'stay home for twelve weeks' category. He also enjoys walking though and refuses to just sit at home day after day. Early last week he got up early and walked over the moors from where he lives to Otley and back, about fifteen miles in total and seven hours or so. In all that time he saw two people, both in the distance. I think he should keep going out and enjoying the fresh air. My sister - a nursing background and working in care so has seen people die of coronavirus - thinks he should stay home. We both know that our opinions don't really matter though - he's going to do whatever he wants no matter what we think.

Just popped out for milk to the local convenience store. Only person in the shop, picked up a carton of milk, paid contactless then left. No hassle or drama
As I was going anyway I had put a petrol can in the boot to get some fresh fuel to do the first start up of my spoked build
Its a Tesco petrol station but not in the Tesco car park. Turn left at a roundabout for the shop, turn right for the garage. Thank Feck.
Shop car park is like there has been a zombie apocalypse warning. Packed with cars and the queue is massive. Staff stopping anymore cars going in but folk still trying
Why today has this started again

well you all need to stay safe guys, I learned a couple of days ago that a friend of mine died from it on Tuesday, his son sent me the message, he's heart broken as the local council has banned anybody attending funerals, so he can't even say goodbye properly.
what gets me about this, as Steve has just posted above, they are banning people attending a funeral, but then you have hundreds of people in shops in close proximity, at least at a Funeral its family members mainly, surely they should allow that - seems like double bloody standards to me

Coming up for two weeks, started with a sore head that wont go away then a sore neck/ back and down my arms now every thing hurts even my kidneys ache ,about a week ago i got a really croaky voice but no sore throat or cough ,if you go on the nhs site for covid 19 there are only two questions do you have a temperature? Do you have a new cough? So I didn’t have any of that so kept working, i wasn’t worried until i got short of breath last night, The Doc said she’s had other patients and colleagues with the same symptoms that have tested positive ,so keep vigilant as the symptoms can change quickly!

stay safe Stu
I think there are a few things going about TBH, for the last 3 or 4 weeks I've had a dull headache on both sides and like a mild earache, every morning I wake up my whole body aches including my joints, and sometimes during the day I just feel a bit lethargic, just thought its one of those things, but then spoke to my brother yesterday and he has the exact same thing and again for the 3 or 4 weeks, which seems very odd to me
Other than that I feel fine

The thing is that there’s no one set of symptoms that fit with everyone, they seem to vary substantially, and also people’s bodies react to them differently as well. @ Steve.......the shops would be busy due to it being the Easter weekend, simple as that.
Stu, hopefully you’ll be on the mend soon. ATB.

Update so I really did have it my wife was in hospital for all of yesterday she has tested positive for covid 19 ,they have sent her home with potassium to take as if you have covid you also have hypokalemia (dont know what that is but potassium is the treatment) i think she’s ok ive not spoke to her today yet (she’s asleep) she couldn’t speak yesterday without coughing which was quite distressing.

Sorry to hear you and your missus have been affected Stu Hopefully, the fact you are both home and not hospitalised means you are both going to recover without more serious medical intervention. Spoke to one of my best mates yesterday. He has volunteered back into the Fire Service - he retired 10 years ago - to help out where necessary. Apparently the Police have withdrawn PCSO's from certain community based work so they can do more actual Policing, so checking on the vulnerable members of the community, delivering food and medicines, delivering stocks of PPE to care homes and places that need it will now be something he does. His induction course, back at the Headquarters site at Reigate, Surrey, highlighted the roles currently expected to be undertaken, and they brushed on the issue of body collection The Reigate training centre is a fairly big site, and a large garage that used to house all the training Fire Appliances - probably about 8 pumps, has now been turned into a temporary Morgue. Local mortuary's cant cope with the numbers, so Reigate now take the deceased, along with another site in Guildford. We still haven't seen numbers for those that have died in care homes or in the community - those figures will increase the toll hugely I would expect. I did read yesterday that the lockdown strategy was hopefully going to save 800,000 lives over a 6 month period. That would be an unprecedented death toll in a short period of time in this country. And still people are treating lockdown like a national holiday, driving to the coast, BBQ's with all their mates etc And as for President Chump ! He's now encouraging anti lockdown groups to crack on, as he believes some restrictions are too tough ! Millions could die in the US, with that attitude Dusty

I haven't mentioed anything about this for 12 days, as that is when my mum went back into hospital (she's been bed ridden for 7 years and this is the 5th time in maybe 7 months she's gone to hospital). Suspected Covid and as she was put into the ambulance I was told I can't come with them or visit her, all I can do is phone the hospital. I sat on the little bench in the front garden as they drove her away and cried my eyes out. I was convinced I'd never see her again. She was placed in the emergency ward, and I'm sure she had to be very close to people with the virus. I was phoning constantly until I realised this probably didn't help the staff at the ward or me and I limited my calls a bit. After three days of agonosing waiting I called and she had been moved to a regualar ward. No virus in her but her blood sugars were through the roof (should be 5...were 40) and she had a chest infection. That got me even more worried. I kept on calling in, just twice a day and she was improving, bloods down to 6.7 and today...she came home. The relief was unbelievable. I really thought she was gone. So she's home, and knows where she is and she's happy. And so am I. Guess now I can finally get some sleep. Tomorrow it's back to normal for me...F/T carer.
One thing I do plan to do is when this is all over is go to the Kingfisher ward she was on (St Peter's in Chertsey Middx) and give everyone there a huge box of chocolates.
