A lot of people are staying at home, some because they have to been told to go home and not come to work and some doing it them selves and some the work has just dryed up so are doing it. Some people live in flats or bedsits , frankly that would drive me crazy .I realy feel for them who are stuck in side these small places.
So who is in Isolation and what are you doing to occupy your selves? Its Crazy times out there, Bloody umbrella corporation will be the end of us all .
Its a normal day doing parts and posting them out only thing extra im doing is i leave the new delivery's 2 days on the floor in the hall before i open them. This is keeping most of day full right now so at least for the time being any way.
My son is with me so thank goodness for that dont think i could stand a couple of months totally on my own, its bad enough in normal times but having him with me has been great. We have cleaned down his KTM125 and replaced all the bolts with ST/ST pained a few brackets and will have the wheels of next to do the disks by next week it will be mint again for him . We will get it MOT'd next week tax and insure it so we can go for a ride round the village to the shops to get milk or something . Makes you great full for freedoms we have normaly to think that its a treet to just nip to the shops on your bike but if we leave the village and hit the open roads we could get pulled and fined for being out.
Ill be doing the garden in the coming weeks re arrange the shed and garage there are no bikes in them and haven't been for a long time but are still in a bit of a mess, the bikes are in the house keeping safe worm and dry.
We got the rifles out and will set up some targets in the garden to shoot at as long as my gas lasts any way my sons in a braker so hell be ok.
Hes been a good lad not like some of the t**ts you see still going out to hand with mates so keep safe people and feel free to share you plans and story's

In isolation with my wife who is at risk and my 15yr old son. My wife is working pretty much flat out from home, my lad gets between 6-8hrs work a day from school so he is busy, I’m working on my business . We are lucky as we live in a hamlet of 4 houses and have the countryside to ourselves as well as lots of land backing onto us. I’m also doing a fair bit of diy as the builders can’t work and tbh I don’t want them here. We are pretty lucky as we have some savings to hopefully tide us over. My heart goes out to those who have lost jobs, no income or may be isolated on their own. It’s not a situation I ever thought we would see in the UK. Things definitely have to change to support and assist those without any social support or finances. It’s challenging to say the least. The hardest thing for me is getting up as normal and not laying in bed. So I consider that I’m pretty lucky. Take care of yourselves and your family everyone. 👍

Hi, We have all been sent home from work for three weeks at least, and from what Im reading it will probably be longer. Today is the end of the first week. Only folk Iv seen are my Mrs and the cats, and the hedgehogs, and the foxes and the squirells.........suits me just fine ! I like lockdown lots, and still finding there are not enough hours in the day. Im promising my self a day or two fettling with my LC as it will soon be time to drag it out the house, and get it ready for the summer, but so far I have been too busy with other stuff. Big year for Elsie this year, being her 40th birthday, Ill need to dig out the V5 and mark the callendar as mine is of 1980 vintage. I found a brand new Elsie,s 30th Anniversary T shirt in the wardrope the other day ! :-) Steven.

Having just listened to this, I'm also wondering if the government have got these measures right? This amount of isolation and the damage it's going to do to the economy does make you wonder what state the country/world will be in at the end doesn't it? Surely sticking to the 2 meter rule and washing hands/things you are about to touch should have been the only measures needed??
At the end of the day most of us still have to go out to buy food for example, if you don't observe the 2 meter rule or wash down the products that you have bought/had delivered from the supermarket, the whole household could be infected.

At the end of the day this world/society runs on money doesn't it, putting right or left wing to one side for a moment, can you see a better way/outcome?
Don't get me wrong, I hate capitalism/this current system, would love it to be replaced by something else but I think we are stuck with it.

If you are thinking of riding your bike
Update from a hospital specialist: I am a consultant trauma surgeon and whilst I am also planning on some commuting by bike as a destressor, be aware that hospital treatment is currently VERY limited. Next week I am acting as a junior doc on the medical wards to support the virus treatment (something I have not done for over 25 yrs!) We are doing no elective routine work at all now.
We have just had guidance from our national professional bodies stating that we will only be operating for life / limb saving procedures and accept a poorer standard of care than normal. If a limb is badly injured and may require multiple operations to save it then early definitive amputation is recommended.
If you break a wrist/ ankle it will be splinted in position and if in 6-12 months it requires complex corrective surgery then so be it.
So by all means ride your bike but be sensible and ride within your ability and the road conditions, dont get injured as we are not currently able to put Humpty Dumpty back together again for the next few months.
Further details are available for those that wish to know #122 5 minutes ago

I don’t disagree and if I had left out right wing would it have made a difference? The reality is Hitchens is an agitator he will state stuff for a reaction always has, now I haven’t and won’t watch his vid as quite frankly I find him as abhorrent as piers Morgan. I will though continue to trust scientific advice (including independent science) over that of a journo. The systems of government throughout the world capitalist, communist, totalitarian etc etc etc are all based on economics. Money is king as is big business, some of these sharks are being called to account some will continue to effectively get away with murder. Sadly that is the way of the world.

Nice on e Norbs!! Had breakfast made on the Ghillie stove this morning.. just a few twigs and hey presto, boiling water for tea and a plate of hot beans, sat in the sunshine. Going to have a bash at making one of those wood burning stoves from tin cans.. have a few of those large ones that I use as hot water baths for making candles (solder 3 together then place a 1ltr tall glass measuring tube filled with wax add water and heat to about 70 degC then start the dipping process.. works quite well and won a BBKA blue ribbon 1st time out) Been melting old brood frames to salvage wax while the sun is out and going to extract some honey from frames that were put to one side last year just in case the bees ran out of stores in the winter... they didn't so they are going to become mead!!! Sorted camping stove out(petrol one) cleared it with carb cleaner and refilled it with aspen fuel so it wont gum up the jet again. Chitting spuds as no flower shows will be on so no need for any dahlis, so will be spuds in garden not flowers. Trying to get 16yr old off laptop... He's very "trying"... FFS

Don't know about the situation in the UK, but here in Denmark the roads are near empty.. My RD is still undergoing paint work (doing it myself and I'm a bit slow), but I do plan to ride my DKW RT 250/2 next week in celebration of it's first registration (which was in Denmark) that's 65 years ago tuesday.

Been working from home all this week, and will be for the foreseeable future. Only problem I have is I'm buying a new Tracer 900 to replace my 675RX and the dealer has closed as well.

Just spent the past 4 hours helping the man cub with his essay for uni. Everything being done on on line as the buildings are all closed. Horrible realisation that I have become quite thick in my dotage as I found putting together a “Critical Essay” on Human Rights on Education and the rights specific to children quite a challenge. Time for a cuppa (again 🤪)

Luckily I got parts in for doing a few jobs. Got enough bits to build two or three engines, so those are waiting. Got all the bits to fit a Temperature control valve on the bathroom sink, as the hot water is too hot out the new boiler, so that is pending. I have been upgrading my loft flooring for the last week or so, but only have enough materials for just over a third, which is now done. Time to shuffle all the stash in the loft on to the new section and make room for more stash! Got a few more DIY jobs to do. Fitted a rev counter in the new Smart car yesterday. Had a play running diagnostics on a neighbour's car this morning. Cleared about 15 faults, but could not sort his airbag issue...
Packed some boxes to ship out.
Went to chemist to collect prescriptions for Mrs and daughter wearing my respirator mask and gloves :-) I know what Darth Vader feels like now :-)
Good job I am not working as I would not have time to do anything!
I have recently been working as a DT technician providing cover at a local Secondary school, but will not be in work for a while and won't be getting any sick pay or benefits :-( Luckily I have funds to keep me going for a while.

Both my kids - 25 and 21, are now working from home, as is my missus. I am now not doing any part time work as it brings me into contact with quite a few pensioners, so I thought it best to suspend my work until this is all over. I'm into week 4 of a shower room rip out and rebuild at home, so have kept busy with that. Today was a day off though, so I painted a door and frame, jet washed the driveway and path outside, cut the grass, tidied the shed, walked the dog, cleaned all my windows and cut some old timber down for a burn up tomorrow. I've already decorated the front room and garage since the new year, and would normally not pick up a paint brush again till next winter - spring/summer and autumn are my time in the shed/garden, but it looks like I will be painting more just to keep busy. On a good note, Paul at PJME shipped my crank and barrels back after rebuild/rebore, so I can resurrect the 400 engine rebuild. I observed the travel limitations which meant I didn't go and collect this time, but he packed it all perfectly and it landed here yesterday Downside, bike wise, is my trip to Metmachex isn't happening any time soon, and also a trip to Mutts with the Café Racer wont be in June either - we were going to a wedding north of him so I was planning to drop the bike off on the way, but the wedding has been cancelled It's going to be a frustrating year in many respects. My parents are elderly, 89 and 85, and not in great health, and live 80 miles away, so I'm going to struggle to get to see them any time soon, but my sister and brother live close by so that's a comfort. This week ive popped some stuff up on the walls of the garage/shed , like signs/memorabilia , that had been sitting on the floor for 12+ months and found I have much more room now!
Cleaned and polished up my Raleigh Choppers today and had plenty of cups of tea looking at my 500. Been a good day...not sure why but ive also lost 4lbs since lockdown, partly eating a little less but mainly because im being more active doing things around the house/garden, day to day I sit in a car 5-6 hours a day generally and have at least 2 lattes a day..

Things are tough. As a carer my monies are very tight indeed. If I had to live on what I get actually paid for caring I'd be on £24 a week. Seriously. However before all this chaos started I have been decorating friends homes and have saved up a small sum. Was putting that to one side for the Popsicle and my LC but natch, all my work has been stopped. So that cash is slowly going down. Girlfriend is in self isolation for another 10 days...that has been VERY frustrating lol but all things considered this is just a virus. We've faced a lot worse before, and in those days bombs were landing in London. If everyone just acted responsibly and shopped in the same manner we'd all be a lot happier.
Just be careful chaps, that's all I ask.

Been working in the LC2 doing its bodywork (and my F1s repaint as well) and am still looking for bits that I never knew were missing. eg, how can i have 3 YPVS frames and yet no rad top mount grommets? sigh... Anyway, took a 2 day break from the LC2 and F1 bodywork... and did more bodywork! Decided that the 500 will get Chinese bodywork when this is all over so pulled down the old faded and bashed up fairing panels off the top of a tool box (where they have been in the way for a year!) and turned it into Garage Art. Had to do quite a bit of plastic repair and make a frame to hold it. Cant post pics on here now, but i posted about it on my 500 thread on the 500 forum if you want to take a look. www.rzrd500.com/500phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=15721&p=102630#p102630

I have been in total isolation for 2 weeks now, I take a drug that is administered at the hospital once a month called infliximab, its an immune surpresent drug. If I get this I am F'ucked. On a brighter note I now have the best garden in my road, the cleanest cars and my bikes are all ready to go in the future. I am not bored but I am worried.

Worrying time for those suffering health problems. Loosing your job is piffle compared to loosing your life, there is allways another job somewhere. But for those who are having something serious like chemo being put back.. it horrendous. I've been in that situation, I know the angst delays and cancellations cause relatives. I have 2 scans scheduled... they aint happening.. I'm not worried coz I should really be dead.. but I'm going to spin out "extra time" for as long as poss

Totally agree. Some things are more important than money. This from someone who's work has shut down with no wages being paid. Live on my own but my Mum is 88 and in the Isle of Man which is locked down. Worrying times for all but always someone worse off. I'll sell the house before the LC though!

Decorating. I hate decorating. It's nothing more than stroking walls. 2 bedrooms done and sadly they look great as I've done proper prep work (for the 1st time) rather than just wallop the walls. Even worse Screwfix are doing a click and collect so I can get even more paint, filler, brushes, rollers, caulk, masking tape :-( The local Co-op is busy in the morning but deserted by 3pm. Still with bread milk fruit meat veg and beer and wine. Things aren't too bad :-) Did I say I hate decorating..... And yes Hitchens is a tw@t.

But for those who are having something serious like chemo being put back.. it horrendous. I agree a lot of people are complaining about money . i think when a child or loved one comes down with this they would be like i dont care any more i want nothing from the government just make my loved one well again . People need to look at the big picture and be great full they are ok. I realy do worry for people like dawking who cant afford to get a wiff of this virus say in mate stay safe . Its been over a week now on lock down ive started working out a little on the gym once a day not long 10 15 mins at the start now im doing 20 mins in the morning and once at night not long just getting the body working a bit. My son has been on his boxing game on the pc and that is knackering swet poring of him. Its a VR game were you box against others in the world . frankly i did about 5 mins and needed oxygen, and thats why i started using the gym im so unfit its shamfull.

currently its business as usual for me, I am so backed up with work that I am just working through the jobs that are here, approx 3 to 4 months worth, I am stupidly busy, but mainly stuck for space as usual, which is what slows me down, I've got 4 bikes completed waiting collection, I've got another 4 engines in pieces waiting to be rebuilt (all parts arrived now), 4 bikes in progress and a shed load of machining to do.
I'd actually like a "day off", but I'll keep myself busy as otherwise I'll be "decorating" like most people and I really have had my fill of decorating over the years
I might even manage to get one of my own bikes finished during this lockdown period, but I won't hold my breath !
Suppose I am lucky really as my workshop is at the rear of my house, those who have been will know what I mean, I have so much equipment and stuff that it would take a while to be bored.
But the real reason I am pleased I am busy is because my wife is a nurse and it keeps me from thinking about her catching this virus, ok, it would mean the kids and I get it, but she would have to deal with giving it to us as well, and my daughter suffers from Asthma. At the moment my wife is still looking after the mental health of her patients, but she is also a fully qualified staff nurse and senior neo-natal midwife, so she is expecting to get redeployed next week to help on the Covid wards, her and her team where told this on Friday as they expect the virus to peak in the next two weeks, all we can do is wait.
For now, all we can all do is stay positive, stay home and be thankful for all of the people who work in the NHS, shops, delivery services, Police, Fire and everyone else who are doing what is necessary to keep the rest of us safe, but also feed and watered !
Right, better get back to machining some adapters up for some exhausts........

Wife is working from home, so on laptop all day Mon to Fri, I'm off shift currently, but back in on Thursday, railway are running greatly reduced services, so lots of odd jobs to catch up on whilst the majority of the fleet are sitting idle. Not done anything on the bike yet, had the mini in the garage yesterday replacing some suspension parts, thought my garage was decent size, but two bikes and two cars, plus all the associated crap built up over the years takes all the space up. Was hoping to retire in august, way things are going might be an option to go earlier if any redundancy is in the offering.
