Been home just over a week now..we have soft curfew in the day and hard curfew 7pm -5am. Catching up on much neglected house projects and getting some good shed time too. Have gathered enough parts over the last couple of years to keep me busy for a long time.

Anyone who thinks these measures will come to an end in a couple of weeks is in for a big surprise. Until an effective treatment or vaccine is found, tested and made widely available we will all be doing pretty much the same as we have since last Tuesday .. so when the clocks go back an hour in October and everyone is sporting a do-it-youself haircut the only thing to look forward to will be a Christmas Day walk to the local park and back, same as every other day in the previous long months

currently its business as usual for me, I am so backed up with work that I am just working through the jobs that are here, approx 3 to 4 months worth, I am stupidly busy, but mainly stuck for space as usual, which is what slows me down, I've got 4 bikes completed waiting collection, I've got another 4 engines in pieces waiting to be rebuilt (all parts arrived now), 4 bikes in progress and a shed load of machining to do. I'd actually like a "day off", but I'll keep myself busy as otherwise I'll be "decorating" like most people and I really have had my fill of decorating over the years I might even manage to get one of my own bikes finished during this lockdown period, but I won't hold my breath ! Suppose I am lucky really as my workshop is at the rear of my house, those who have been will know what I mean, I have so much equipment and stuff that it would take a while to be bored. But the real reason I am pleased I am busy is because my wife is a nurse and it keeps me from thinking about her catching this virus, ok, it would mean the kids and I get it, but she would have to deal with giving it to us as well, and my daughter suffers from Asthma. At the moment my wife is still looking after the mental health of her patients, but she is also a fully qualified staff nurse and senior neo-natal midwife, so she is expecting to get redeployed next week to help on the Covid wards, her and her team where told this on Friday as they expect the virus to peak in the next two weeks, all we can do is wait. For now, all we can all do is stay positive, stay home and be thankful for all of the people who work in the NHS, shops, delivery services, Police, Fire and everyone else who are doing what is necessary to keep the rest of us safe, but also feed and watered ! Right, better get back to machining some adapters up for some exhausts........ Sound like you need an apprentice

my wife has been working from home she spends most the time on the phone or in online meeting at the mo i am a sole trader and work on my own so keep out her way up my unit still got my ebay parts shop open but sales are slowing down now on my last bike for breaking now so i won't risk traveling fetching stock and considering shutting my ebay shop probably on the 1st of April. will give me chance to catch up on some bikes that need work ie fork rebuilds, engine rebuild, wiring loom making, carb rebuilds, got all the parts needed just been lacking time i consider myself to be very lucky i can lock myself in my unit(isolated farm unit) and not see any body all day i have to keep busy locked down in my house day after day would drive me nutts !

I use a trough so dogs don’t trample the veg , sister in law has got horses so she bags the shit up and will leave at back of house so no contact required she has to go up and still feed and muck them out a electronic shifter is a kilktronic for disabled riders it shifts up and down using a electronic solenoid my knee is buggered and sometimes find it hard to shift not to bad on a lc but the turbo one I struggle on after a while so that should sort it

Wife is working from home. Daughter works from home anyway and I don't work. I feel bad now cause everyday at 3 pm I go downstairs listen to music and drink beer. Forgot to add. I stocked up a couple of weeks ago with beer that I liked. Now after all that time drinking the same beer I need a change. So im off to the bottlo to get something else. At first I didn't think this virus would be as bad.

In the same boat here West Coast USA. We're on lockdown as well.
Signed up for the dole last night. Working a bit still, but the real estate market has come to the same grinding halt as everything else.
Been eating well, but since I'm not out exercising, I've cut back to just one meal a day to avoid gaining back what I've worked so hard to lose.
Got up at the crack this AM and legged it over to the local store and scored some TP, so that's good.
... and yeah the potential to drink too much is real with all this extra time on me hands. I set some (easy) rules for myself: up and out by noon working on something, and no beers before 5pm.
Simple enough!

Many businesses would have folded by then, the majority of people would have lost their job etc. I wish I had the answer, I don't usually agree with the likes of Trump but carrying on these lock down measures would be financial suicide for the masses.

I’m still working – engineering.
We work for the food, chemical, pharmaceutical and oil & gas sectors.
The shop floor have been split into two shifts with a half hour gap between them.
Office staff have also been split – half are working from home and half of us are in the office with a desk in each corner. I am cannon fodder so still in.
We have video link with home workers and the shop floor and all documentation is put into trays in a safe zone.
Been using the car to commute as it somehow doesn’t seem right riding my bike as I usually would (no traffic anyway) plus if I were to have a tumble its an even greater strain on the NHS.
My wife is retired and is a carer for her parents – they both have breathing difficulties so that’s a big worry. My daughter is an intern in Bristol, but is back home with us which is a massive relief.
I had Friday afternoon then all day Saturday & Sunday to myself: first, I finished off a C90 project that’s been on the ramp far too long, then pushed my GPZ900 on to start work. Can’t decide what to do with it: needs the carbs sorting and a few bits but its not bad. A1 model, pretty much original and in great condition considering its 36 years old and totally unrestored.
Stay safe and healthy everyone.

I guess I'm lucky where I'am, were are not totally locked in our houses, yet, it is getting closer though
I can go out for a walk with my missus every night, I can still go to my GP and physio but unfortunately not the hydro pool
W Australia's borders have been closed to all travellers from the other states and internationally by road, air or sea.
The exceptions are freight, medical supplies or compassionate, once you arrive in the state you have to isolate for 14 days, international travellers are told not to come, unless you are Australian or have a resident visa
Our state has 10 sub regions, some are the size of some countries in Europe, 4 of those 10 have been classified as one region, so we have now 9 regions each with its own hard border as well as the state border, we are not allowed to travel in or out of those regions unless we have a very good reason, for those that don't know, WA is about a 1/3 the size of Australia with about 2.6 million people in it, the UK will fit into it over 10 times
We are spread out all around the coastline essentially, with the majority, about 2 million in the capital Perth region, that leaves 600,000 of us in the rest of the state
As you can now imagine, the area of these regions, now called sub states, is pretty vast so patrolling them will be problematic, there are lots of desert tracks criss-crossing the lines on the map, the fine for doing so is about 25000 quid, and no I'm not kidding
2's company 3 is a crowd, 5 people at a wedding, 10 at a funeral, parks, pools, gym's, libraries, some schools etc and a lot of retail shops are closed, only grocery and hardware stores are essentially open
People have been stood down or terminated from work, just like everywhere else, the government has put in a wage guarantee - brilliant, however the debt is going to be carried for decades to come, much like other countries
Elective surgery in all public and private hospitals has been cancelled, strangely the private hospitals are threatening to close because they have no work - that could make life interesting
So for now for me, I essentially find out tomorrow if I have to go into isolation, I have surgery for my second hip in 2 weeks time, if I get the go ahead, then I'm isolated and join the ranks of those before me, if no go ahead then i join the ranks of the unemployed
My missus will have to stop work at the same time, she is a pharmacist so is front line, so she cannot afford to come home with the virus and give it to me
I can do some small bits, no heavy lifting, on my F1, although I'm still awaiting some parts to arrive and that will keep me amused, luckily I have big block of land so can do a few laps around it
Others are not so lucky and my heart goes out to them, I really hope all of us on here pull through and come out the other side in a blaze of blue smoke, wouldn't that be good
All I can say to everyone is take stay safe and most importantly stay well
All the very best
Howard

I'm not flavour of the month 😞
Wife and I are both working from home
She works for HMRC and was sent home with a surface pro and all her associated hardware
She has been pulling her hair out with connectivity issues so anything between no internet access at all or not being able to access systems
Been going on for 2 1/2 weeks now
Sympathetic me has been saying "my laptop, phone and everything else is working so it's your side"
Only issue we sometimes have is there is sometimes a few seconds delay changing web pages or my sons telly sometimes stops on netflix
BT fibre. We can all stream HD video on 4 devices at the same time
"Its not our problem" I've been telling her
Got fed up to day as it was winding her (and therefore me)
I'll prove its not the WiFi I tell her and head upstairs to my laptop bag and return with a 3m network cable
I plug it in and oh sh1t it works 😖
2 FECKIN WEEKS YOUVE KNOWN THAT CABLE WAS UPSTAIRS 😡
Must be the wireless router playing up and every time it dips a bit it throws her off her vpn
Oopsies 🙊
The bike build has been coming on well though 😂

The things Trump has said and done over the past couple of months will inevitably lead to tens or perhaps hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths in the US unfortunately. It's a fine line between keeping some kind of economic activity going and the rates of infection down but whatever happens the virus will be affecting daily life worldwide until well in to next year.

Right up early for first day shift back since the restrictions, got to be honest I'm looking less forward to going back than normal, mixing with people I've no idea are carrying it or not, plus working on trains that may or may not be clean does not fill me with cheer. Wife is less than happy than I, she has pretty much not left home for weeks, aside from afternoon walking the dog with me, and she's not at all happy I'm going back. See what work restrictions are in place when I get there.

Its hard the isolation but if all the end of virus will be faster I agree but it seems that there are a fair few companies keeping their businesses open/making staff come in under the 'we are key/essential workers' banner. This isn't going to help put an end to this virus fast me thinks.
