I have located V Force Reeds to RD350LC (not YPVS model) the question is that are they worth the expense and how long do the reeds last.
Thanks for any info

I’ve seen a thread on hear recently about someone having bought some v force reeds to fit an LC. From memory they didn’t fit.
Of course you can open up the inlets on an LC barrel, but the walls re dangerously thin.
I’d be interested to know if the ones you’ve found do fit?
As far as are they worth it? As a single modification from standard I’d say no they are not worth the expense. However as part of a host of tuning mods, I’d say yes definately.

You need to remember too that when the Vforce reeds need replacing you need X4 per reed block !
I would like to see someone dyno some TZR 250 reed blocks to see how they perform ?

In general they work better than standard reeds. I have done some dyno tests with the YPVS V3 reeds and they worked best against a standard pair and a modified pair of standard reeds with the standard intake system and a standard billet intake manifold. I also modified a billet intake manifold to suit the carbs and then the modified reeds worked better than the V3 reeds but it was only 1.5 up on the top of the curve.
The V4 YPVS reeds are way too big to fit in a 4LO intake and as Jon pointed out it is a bit of a squeeze with the standard YPVS reeds.
It is easier to add a spacer in front of the Standard YPVS reeds then you don't have to grind so much out of the 4LO intakes, again the spacer in front of the reeds drop peak hp and you gain a little in mid range.

I think Dave did some tests (ypvs) on his dyno and saw good gains across the rev range. Not seen any for an LC so will be interested to see.

I have some Billet X Blocks that do the same power but at half the price . But are for ypvs so not a straight fit to an lc .

intersting to see your billet x blocks against standard reed blocks and vforce4's

I have read that the Xblocks perform as good as or better than the V-force reeds with lower powered engines but I have never seen a dyno chart to prove this.

I have some VForce reeds that fit an LC inlet with no modification, they are waiting for me to find a spare couple of hours to test them, oh and a bike I suppose would help as well ! I'll publish up some results when I've done it, but that might be a while as I am snowed under right now, meanwhile a graph of the VForce 4's vs stock YPVS reeds fitted to a 350 YPVS

Put them in fresh builds so unable to comment.
Went off the results of Dave’s dyno results. Plus being the latest technology, have to be better than the 30 year old oe items

I believe the ones you need are VForce3 #V384A to fit aircooled and LC.

The V3's had no reed stops but the V4's , they have them

in short: VForce Reeds of any kind do not fit in an unmodified 4L0....http://rdlccrazy.proboards.com/thread/41050/vforce4-reeds-on-4l0 Just inquired with an LC owner/tuner here in the States says VForce3 #V384A (RM100) fits 350LC cyls with 6mm spacers and no modification to the cyls. Mounting holes on cages must be taken out to 9mm, and stuffers modded to match manifolds. www.2strokeworld.net/forum/index.php?topic=31.0

I thought the YZ85 VF reeds fitted the LC as the 250 ypvs is the same size, with minimal fettling of the cylinders or a spacer.
