Since Xmas not a lot has happened to this bike and i was spending my time looking at how i can get some extra cooling around the exhaust area of the block. The chassis was sent back to Nico Bakker for some small details to finalise and check the geometry before i went and ruined it or adjusted it wrongly. Whilst the bike was at Nico Bakker's work shop Nico had his yearly show and he put the The chassis on display. At the show i met up with Marrcel from this forum and we had a good old natter. Also at the show was Willems ally chassied YPVS. This looked very imposing and made the bikes around it disappear into the background. I know Midlife and Yogi would have loved to see this bike in the flesh and you really cant help but stare at the massive air-cooled front disc and anti-dive. I was starting to get a bit frustrated with the progress of the bike because i turned my attention to modifying and testing new ideas for cooling the engine. This is a very slow process having to rely on other people to do the machining etc. Due to this i bought some engine parts that Mr Kipling had for sale so i could go ahead and build the bike up with an engine and create some enthusiasm. This has worked An engine has now been built up and put into the frame. The bike is at the correct ride height so the brake lines have been measured and ordered. I have built the bike up as much as i could because now i have two scales and can weigh it. It doesn't look much different than the last pictures i posted but now with a complete engine except for the fly wheel i can't pick it up and walk around with it.

I was a bit tired last night and forgot to mention that i weighed the bike. The total weight was 92 kg i was a bit disappointed when i saw this, as it still needs, the electrics, fly wheel, clocks +bracket, chain and full fairing so it's going to be over the target weight i set myself.
The front was 45 kg and the back was 47 kg

I have now got some parts for the ignition. I was originally planning to use a system without a fly wheel and use a rechargeable batterie to power the clocks etc. but Pieter the tuner i use talked me out of it. He has been very enthusiastic about the bike and has put this ignition package together. The system use a rectifier with a built in condenser which means no batterie is needed and a small fly wheel. The savings in weight from the fly wheel are lost because of the weight of the Zeel (475 g). Here you can see the weight comparison.
Next job on the list will be to find a place for everything. At the moment i'm thinking about mounting everything at the front under the clocks.

Thats still bloody light. And looks fantastic.
Even if you're at ~110-115kg you're still only about 20-30 lbs over a a full GP bike. I think my 98 TZ is around 225. This will have +++ more torque to push around that little bit of extra weight.

Greath flywheel. Is it possible to have a 12v stator with it?

I quite like the fairing just needs tidying up and would certainly add good wind protection without having to get your chin on the tank which is surprisingly hard certainly as age goes up.

Day time use I presume then bud? The drawback is if road use and the engine stops in the night you have no lights. This is just to put a seed in the brains of people who are thinking about this setup for general road use. Nice build though matey keep it up.

Totally agree with you Kenny, I wouldn't use this on a road bike.

With the throttle fitted properly the action of the throttle is very heavy due to the two springs in the carbs Has any one fitted slightly lighter springs?
