Cheers Dave Passed the MOT today Pulled a small crowd at the bike shop ! The Mot tester couldn't get enough of the exhaust fumes !! Been round the block twice - sounds soo nice with the pipes. Think I went too large on the pilot jets - 27.5 fitted, but I think 25's would have been better but an easy fix. I'm chasing an electrical gremlin at the mo - battery is draining so I'm testing that at the mo to see if it's faulty. Otherwise she seems great, starts first kick every time, and settles off choke quite quickly into an even tickover. Brakes are awesome, suspension feels spot on too. But she is for sale. It's job done regards the build. Desperate for room for the cafΓ© racer build now although I have a few home diy projects that I cant put off any longer so that cafe build may be delayed a bit Dusty

They get sold so I can build the next one. Having said that, I cant quite bring myself to sell the orange hybrid - must find time to finish that It will be nice to do something different as my last 3 builds have all been Lc based. Dusty

Well, the semi hybrid has a new owner now and is on her way north to a new home. Nice to meet you today Al, and hope you enjoy riding the Lc as much as I enjoyed building it There is now a bit of space in my tiny garage, but not for long 20190405_134146 by dusty miller, on Flickr Dusty

nice build Dusty Over the years I have had a few sets of 375 barrels done by Armstrong racing developments in Newcastle, bored out and about 6mm off the bottoms..those look ok to me, but you need the squish and head done to suit, I am just about to start another one myself, still collecting bits, like the look of mutts exhausts tho, was going to go Swarbrick, will ash for a price off him/ Well done bud....

Thanks. The 375 barrels and head were sold on. I wanted a standard set of barrels for ease of setting up. I was always going to sell this build to fund the cafΓ© racer, and I think the 375 may have needed some dyno time to get right. They were potentially a quick set of barrels - the work had been done to a high standard, but still an unknown quantity compared to a standard top end. And the pipes from Mutts were lovely. They were "all round performance pipes" in stainless. Depends on how you ride I suppose, but aren't Swarbricks more of a top end (race)design ? You gotta go for what you want, but I would certainly recommend Daves for looks/price/build quality/delivery time. He has dyno readouts available so you can see how they make their power. And they sound awesome too Dusty

Swarbricks are all top end had them on my old hybrid. In the day they were ok today most of us want mid range and a decent spread of power. I bought tz350 pipes for my build they are going to be replaced by a set of daves pipes once I have ran my motor in. The tz pipes start making power at 9000 rpm start that ainβt good for crank life etc. And as much as I hate to admit it, Iβm 50 this year not 18.

WOW !!! What a build. Your builds are so inspirational Dusty. The trouble is with the 'inspiration' comes the 'realisation' that i will never be able to build anything anywhere near as gorgeous as the creations you build. Will certainly have a go at getting as close as i can tho.

Funny when you revisit some of these builds how cheap does that bike seem now? Only 12 months ago. Flames trust me I am not gifted but with the help and advice on here youβll be able to pull something really nice together π I did and if I can anyone can.

I agree. If you want to build a nice bike you can. They are not complicated or difficult. You just need time, patience and vision. Oh and money, usually lots of it ! For me, it's all about the building more than the riding now, and I enjoy refurbing even the smallest, out of sight parts. Every part is a sum of the total, so the more time you invest, the better they are, imo. Only ever build what you want though, otherwise you'll never be happy ! Dusty

Dusty Very true, but still stunning bike. I think its only when you have restored a bike yourself and see other bikes, you can appreciate the time, effort, attention to detail and cash invested. 10 out of 10
