Hi Tobyjugs Yea, nothing quite like it jobwise. I joined when I was 18 so it's all I've known for 31 years !! I've done plenty of part time jobs over the years so can turn my hand to a variety of things when the time comes. I definitely wont miss night shouts though Hi Des - I saw an ad for learning how to spray quite recently. Don't know if that's for me though - I'm a bit more "agricultural" if you know what I mean Hope you are well mate - you've got a knee op soon haven't you ? Dusty hello dusty knee replacement a week tommorow not looking forward to it but got to have it done , all your bikes are looking the dogs bollocks nice work , hopefully all will be ok with op so should be able to do the brands hatch meet this year all the best mate ..des

Hi Gaz I'm not overly happy with the tank decal I have fitted so far There are a couple of very small bubbles I cant get out, and I am dreading doing the other side to be honest. Ideally they need lacquering over too so I could do with finding someone who can both fit them properly then clear coat afterwards. Funds are running low now and there are still some parts to buy to finish, so it may be an issue I have to revisit at a later date. Regards Dusty

Hi Andrew Sorry to hear the hybrid is still getting hot Does it run ok otherwise ? Be good to catch up soon Jobs left to do are buy a rear brake line and a short front line. Also need to check the jets in the carbs - gonna go with 280 mains as a start point - had them in my previous hybrid and it ran well with them fitted. Need a new battery, and fit the loom and wire in the Lc clocks to the pv wiring. Brakes will need bleeding and I need to paint the rear caliper first. Getting there slowly !! Dusty

Hi all Time to resurrect this hybrid ! It's been sat in the garage too long. Typical of me, I buy other projects before I finish existing ones, but as I am down to two bikes (at the mo !!), I can hopefully finish them both This hybrid has never turned a wheel, even though it was very close to being finished. I have never run the engine since fitting the coolhead, and the bike now has some lovely stainless Tsa's fitted; 20170616_151039 by David Miller, on Flickr With the shed build now complete, this bike has now moved in, ready for some work; 20170801_193343 by David Miller, on Flickr Mad as it may seem, I am changing a few things rather than just completing the build. I want to fit an Lc airbox, and I now have a nice one thanks to Mouse's kind donation of one Fitting an airbox will mean relocating all the electrical boxes, currently mounted where the filter box would be. Also, the billet intakes I bought and fitted need to be changed back to standard carb rubbers as the carbs wouldn't sit right for the airbox rubbers. I'm basically going for a standard set up with just the TSA's for performance. After seeing Muttsnuts pipes on a few bikes at Brands, I would like shorter end cans - ideally 150mm long, which I think would suit the "look better". Pipes will get a light polish. just to remove some storage marks - otherwise they are like brand new. Originally, I canted the clocks forward by bending the bracket, but in hindsight, standard would look a bit better and give more room for the ignition key, so I will get a spare bracket powder coated and swapped over. Biggest change will be paint. I bought a new tank and panel set from Norbo, and Mark Cordwell picked it up for me and took it back to his paint shop. Hopefully ready by the end of this month. It's an unusual scheme so takes longer than a standard job, which is fine. Gonna pressure test the engine as I never did it when it had a complete rebuild, and I think it's an ideal time to do it. Already collected some parts, and still have some to buy, so will update as I go, plus will try and sort all the missing pics, thanks to Photof**k*rs !! Dusty

Unusual scheme? Im guessing you are going to be a tease and get us to wait till its finished? Or should we start a poll to guess the new scheme?

As long as it isn't the same as my unusual red white speed bloke scheme I don't mind. 😀. I'm going with Firenze red with fluro stripes only to used whilst wearing a centurion helmet and flip down visor for dusty not mine

A few guys already know - I thought I had already mentioned the colour scheme on here ? Main colour is what is a bit different to the norm, although there are others that I have seen. Little clue - no other word in the English language rhymes with it (as far as I know) !! Dusty

Marti is right - orange with mauve polkadots Basically, Ford do an Orange - I thought it was "burnt orange" but apparently it goes by a different name. They paint their Focus and Fiesta ST models in it. A black speedblock decal - same style as my Lc hybrid - will run through the tank and panels. I have seen an orange Lc on here before but I think the decals were different. Just wanted something a bit different, and I've always liked the Ford colour. When Mark said he was gonna pack up it made me get my act together. And I was so pleased with the new tank and panels from Norbo for the Lc Hybrid, I did the same for this one. Being a "one off" means it's at the back of a long queue of paintwork, but I am in no desperate rush. I've left it to Mark with regards decals and how they are outlined, so I will be as surprised as everyone else when I see it for the first time. Yamaha did paint early aircooled 350's in an orange, with black decals and white outline. It depends on how the bodywork looks with the white wheels, but I am guessing wheels would look better black. Could swap the black wheels out of the Lc hybrid into this and vice versa, so no cost involved, and the Lc might look good with the white wheels. Dusty

Couldn't agree more with the colour choice Dusty mate, maybe I'll have to do the Green ST colour on my LC over winter

Hi Karl, I had toyed with the idea of the ST green, with black decals, but went for the orange as I've always liked it. Be nice to see it in green Dusty

There is also that Lc from the 80's that made readers special in orange with the vf500 wheels and full fairing, but yours does send more tasteful. It is a nightmare choosing the colour scheme.

Yeah, I remember that one. Hopefully the scheme will "work", it's not easy to find something different nowadays !! Needed some carbs for this build as I sold my last set, so ebay turned up some good 31k's; 20170802_143402 by David Miller, on Flickr I will ultrasonically clean them and get the brass balls out whilst I'm at it. I need to buy a Yam throttle cable too Dusty

The blue bodywork went with the last bike I sold as the new owner preferred it to what was on it. The only part I kept was the Rgv mudguard, which I sent up to Mark Cordwell for painting. It was actually Subaru blue, and I quite liked it, but just wanted something a bit different. Fingers crossed it will look good ! Dusty

Orange is on the cards for my first Hybrid, but I'll wait to see if yours is similar and have to make a few alterations (there was alo Howards?? R1-Z in an orange colour)
Strange how many colours there are available, and nothing stands out as unusual or rare any more.
