www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284331780809?hash=item42337eaac9:g:7gwAAOSwX4dgxlybNominating this one, as although Dusty created a thread on it, as its not what it initially purports to be, its a chancer trying his luck in order to maximize its potential value. Its not the iconic Hag Hughes black and white bike from the heyday of LC's, its a replica recently built, so belongs here. This is a funny one I reckon. Im not saying youre not wrong at all so bear with me... Replicas are funny things. This one is built by Hag, who did the original one that figured in the mag article in the 80s. Only thing is that its just not his actual iconic bike from the 80s and it turns out reading the other thread that its actually being sold by Hag himself. If the Hag connection is important to the buyer then it will sell for good money I guess, but for me its not the original bike so not got the cachet etc. The article (also put up in the other thread) includes a rant by hag about the green bolt brigade (including his absolute pleasure at cutting up an original 350 to do this) and and yet he then faithfully reproduced the old decals he had on his old bike so this one looked more like it. Im calling double standards...

Thing is with selling stuff, you just need one buyer and EBay has huge audience. the majority not going to pay that type of money for a concourse 250 D, let alone one like that with various bits from earlier and later models....but if you were the first owner....maybe there’s a haggle conclusion that sees you pay £1500 premium for the opportunity cost. DVLA shows the latest V5 was just Issued....so a story in that too..

In the future when parts have dried up everything may be worth having a go at fixing, Hobsons choice. Dont know how much it would cost to fix those, but if you ally weld and work in an engineering works...
The seller is one of the good guys!

I'd say that they would repair fairly easily, I know I've repaired far worse.

more of the 'put the old one in the bag and later sell it as NOS' BS. www.ebay.com.au/itm/164760995214?hash=item265c85458e:g:WE0AAOSwH4VgT9r0This is what i was saying earlier that dealers used to replace broken stuff under warranty and then keep the old parts in stock, especially if it was on their dime, ie their guys broke it or it was a used bike they warranted etc. Many years later people buy this stuff as a job lot and onsell it as NOS. Its plainly used and broken. Sadly this place is about 10mins from me and if they had priced things sensibly and not taken the piss Id have bought quite a few bits over the years, but they ripped me off when they did the equivalent of an MOT on a KTM once and seems the same management is still in charge. sigh.

If I can get a lend of a centre stand I'm sure I can get these made up locally for far less than that.

If I can get a lend of a centre stand I'm sure I can get these made up locally for far less than that. Anyone can put something up on eBay at a price so ridiculously above market value. Far better looking at auctions and sold listings, you can see recently YPVS stands have been going for £100 give or take either side. This is definitely overpriced, and the seller is chancing his arm someone will buy it unknowing of market value/desperate. Jon

It's been fitted as you can see marks where the chain adjusters and spindle fit but maybe removed very early days and swapped for an alternative like Metamachex, Spondon or similar.

Some plastic moulding company really needs to consider remaking all the LC plastics such as rear mudguards, coil cover, number plate bracket and clutch cover. In fact even though still available the oil pump cover is a staggering £67.33 from Fowlers which is way overpriced IMO for a bit of moulded plastic. Jon

If you were to buy a bike with all these hard to find parts missing it would cost an absolute fortune to to purchase them all, I see same chap has a nos wiring loom for £480 !!
