Thats mint!... It's the holes that give it value, they are a race mod and less weight is golden... so you are getting a genuine race modded part from yesteryear. Maybe my theory on it's value is full of holes?....like the item... and a mint!

Maybe my theory on it's value is full of holes?....like the item... and a mint! Sorry that's a old wives tale. This was a common mod done back in the day to aid with cooling the final drive/chain. Yamaha rolled this out due to the claims for excess chain wear. They also (unoffically) recommended wheelies as this gave a 'ram air' effect to cooling the chain. The authorities were sympathetic to this reason for front wheel elevation if they happened to manage to chat to you.

I actually dont think that seat was totally stupid money. Its all nos and you wont find those parts anywhere else. It'll have been a must have for someone to finish their resto. I have a nos seat cover on one of my bikes and it wasnt cheap 5 years or so back, im sure it'd be eye watering now.
One thing i would say about old seat covers is that you need to be careful with them, if theyve got any UV over the years or had weight on them when folded you can have issues with folds or splitting and quite a lot of trimmers will shy away from the work. I do mine myself, but I know not everyone will do that.

The HDR over saturation filter malarkey has brought that right out to actually make the pictures unflattering!

Just wondering what that's worth....... perhaps I can retire early!!! 🤣🤣🤣

They were not cheap when i bought them but I hate to think what they are worth now. Silly thing is that if you restore a bike and fit the 30+ year old seat foam youre gonna not feel like a new bike. Luckily we can get LC foams from a few places and webike has LC2's now. a new foam makes all the difference. EDITED: i just checked and you can buy a whole new JDM 4L3 seat from webike now, good value compared to the above: japan.webike.net/products/24577919.html

The sad thing is it wasn’t that long ago really that would be advertised at £10k less. If I think back on how things have increased in value in the last 25 years, it goes something like this: Wages x2.5 House value x5 LC x10 Jon

The top left one looks genuine used with combination cross head and slot hex? The one in the bag is not NOS as it’s got a barcode and still available through some sources? Probably the superceeded part with cross head and hex and plated black. The others look like pond hose clips to me? What a mish mash for the money. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224448558411?hash=item34422d354b:g:S0UAAOSw98lgj~KRJon

Some folk think it’s amusing to change the price to something ridiculous before they mark it as Sold, very sad 😔
