Holy hell I didn’t realise people tried to sell parts (not even good parts) for that much money.

5 grand?? Maybe one of us should 'buy' it and then pop round to collect it. Perhaps with a baseball bat.

I dont get it ! 9 people are actually bidding on them 😲 I don't get it either, as on the same page are two other LC clock cases for sale, £20 and £40, with 1 and 0 bids respectively. Plus as Gunny said, you can get new ones for £60. Nowt as queer as folk!

And this is the reason people think their bikes are worth £10k plus. first rule is always do a bit of research on what you are planning on buying and second rule is remember there are other places to buy other than e bay.

well it appears the seller has realized that he has found a lucrative market and is selling more of the same. £300 profit per item, beats going to work i suppose. part of me thinks its just not right and part of me thinks i should be doing it !

All a matter of conscience, either having it or not. If not, become a car or bike salesman and be every punters best friend...then shaft them for as much as you can get. Beats working at a real job that's actually useful to society.

Typical, i read this post and suddenly I get a problem with same part! I bought a new clock facia back in September (for 55 quid I might add) and out in the sun at the weekend i notice cracks appeared underside of warning lights. I contacted the seller for replacement and they said no probs, they are still getting boatloads of these from the Yamaha factory!

Very nice bike indeed. Not sure about the asking price considering it isn’t a runner. Rebuilt or not, first press on the kickstart and it might sound like a biscuit tin full of spanners. 15k is a lot of dosh however the more informed on here know what these bikes are actually worth, fully resto’d or needing some TLC. If it sells for that then I will throw my own 4LO onto the ‘Bay

Like anything, it's worth what someone will pay for it. I wouldn't pay it because I want to ride and enjoy my bike. My local Yam dealer was telling me about a dealer he knows up north, who used to take one of every bike he had and put it in storage. He had a black 4L0 and sold it about 5 or 6 years ago, so it could have been his one originally, which someone tarted up a bit and could explain the 'dry' status.

I suppose it could have been a combination of cosmetic damage to tank, fairing, side cases, pipes, a wheel, fork leg and a few other parts, from sliding down the road, that could have made the repair uneconomic for an insurer, so it gets written off, but it could still have been rideable. But I would check the frame alignment and also any damage as well. Just in case.
