Looking good as usual. I hate doing wheels, I got a set of wheels to paint but the mere thought of doing it is bloody depressing lol. It's well worth the effort afterwards though.

finally got round to doing rear wheel ,what a nightmare had to nitromorse it back to bare metal as it had around 6 coats of different paints on it ,any way all done now , decided on polishing brake drum rather than paint (i know it isnt up to your standards on here ) but believe me its mint to what it was so its now rolling ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D i know its got a lump out of it but just wanted to get it back on its wheels may get another one later on

You need to ditc that k&n for a standard air box possibly will do mate ,but this is the set up it came on so will see how it runs when i get to that stage and go from there ,it has fibre reeds so think they are an upgrade a and looks like its had some mild porting so not sure if it will run standard air filter cheers dav

looking good, well done, just one question, ive heard a few people talk about flatening after painting, this is probably a bit of a dumb question, but what the hell does it mean? is it a light rub with something? if you could be so kind to give me some sort of procedure for this. i want to start doing my own painting, thanks

Hi Ken when painting i always flat between coats using 1000 grit wet and dry paper, this consists of water with a small amount of washing up liquid in and wet sanding using the 1000 grit paper taking care on the edges not to rub through the paint ,try and get as much of the orange peel out as possible (this is paint that has little dimples looks like an orange skin ) then keep reapplying coats until happy ,then flat the finished paint with the water solution and 2500 wet and dry ,then polish to a finish using a rubbing compound tcut could be used for this but i use 3m finishing polish .
do not apply any silicone based polish for at least 2 weeks after finishing as the paint needs to cure and breath.
But a good paint job is all in the preperation.
hope this helps dav

Did these out of aerosol but when I use the gun on celly 50/50 then add an extra 10% thinners for last coat ,like to use 2 pack normally.
These have had three coats of primer ,two mars red then three ford radiant red will get about three coats of lacquer once decals are on.

funny thing that ,with all the previous colours, the bloke who painted mine said mine had been white twice, blue twice, yellow and red plus it still had 2 sets of decals on it. with the last paint job the stripes and yamaha logo were painted on aswell. but it ended up very good.
