Not a great fan
End looks like a scaffy pole welded on 🤣
You see so many for sale on ebay
"Hardly used, decided to go back to standard"
Translated - we all like a nice spannie noise but jeez these make your ears bleed
Think they tend to sound like a spannie with just a stinger, no silencer. Nice on a parade bike but not for living with

For those aiming to modify the hanger/ footrest plate. Be aware if you’re using the Metmachek arm with concentrics. The spindle nut can cause fitment issues on large potholes.

Delkevic may be a British company but the majority of their exhausts if not all these days are made in China. Quality concerns have been an issue I've seen on other forums especially with 2 stroke exhausts.

My view is that for the money you pay compared to other chrome/retro pipes o can live with the rear hanger issue Allspeeds welding isn't any better. The chrome on my Delkevics is better than my small cans Yes you can buy Alonze or the like but you won't have chrome or stainless, just mild steel you will have to paint or pay another £250 for Cerakote They are also quite like the old bean can microns so nothing else looks like them A lot of stuff on an LC is about the look, nothing more As I've said, I'll space out my hangers or mill the footplates to make them splay outward and allow the pipes to fit on the inside Steve Thats just where I am with it Steve. Worth a bit of time to get them looking something like. Plus, I dont really want to send them back because they were a fantastic gift from the wife so would seem I was ungrateful which I certainly am not. Plus she'd buy me a pair of socks and some M&M's next christmas...

Plus she'd buy me a pair of socks and some M&M's next christmas... An idea given your comments: Cut the tab parallel to the silencer mount, about half way up. Machine/cut an additional piece of steel similar width etc as the now shorter tab on the silencer Weld the new piece on vertically which by the looks of your picture will align with the hanger mount thus giving an 'elbow' type profile Drill the new piece of material to suit once you've marked it up/checked alignment etc
I think this is how I'd attack it & this way you keep the chromed weld as it is on the tab/silencer.
Oh & I'd also modify the flange on the barrel doing away with the outer wall. Might need to alter the inner boss height to aid assembly/disassembly?

If modifying the twin wall header I'd cut the inner back 5mm to help alignment if it's a problem
Would help when offering up the pipe and keep the double lip for oil leak sealing

Had a play around tonight. Got the apprentice to mill a little bending jig this afternoon and had a go at manipulating the hanger brackets. Used a heat gun and got it as hot as I could (the chrome didn’t discolour so probably have been better with a blow torch) The chrome has stayed on, not flaked off at all, but there are some tiny cracks in it on the bend radius. You’d have to be on your hands and knees to notice it though. It won’t see much bad weather so won’t rust as long as it’s kept polished. I’ve only got some mild steel plate so will liberate some stainless tomorrow and make two L brackets (I’ve made a template for each side from aluminium strip) Both sides are level too so the jig was a success. So I think I’ve had a bit of a result, I didn’t need to upset the wife after all……. I will finish it off this week and post up the finished article but to be honest I am now happy with them. To me they look the part, a cross between bean can microns and small can allspeeds.

I agree, that looks much better. I would still tell them about the issues though, and the solution you have found. Might improve things for future buyers

If everyone who has and fixes a problem does that then they cant utter the line, and I'll (topically) quote the Post Office Horizon Helpline; 'No one else has had a problem, only you...'

At some point I hope to be able to comment on how they fit , sound and work with a long stroke/rod Dave Whattam engine.

Can't say I think much of their 2 stroke pipes, but I have to say the stainless DK 4:1 for my Z650 fitted like a dream and has good welding too. Presumably built in a different Chinese sweatshop.

Another hour and half tonight in the garage to make the hanger / adapter brackets. No 3mm stainless at work so used carbon steel flat bar. I will update tomorrow (the paint is drying in the airing cupboard along with the black baffles) Hopefully you get the idea. The brackets are handed (mirror images) but they fit really well and are barely noticeable. My bracket sits below the folded exhaust bracket, supporting it with two countersunk screws so should be ok. Should be on and finished tomorrow, bet you can’t wait for the final outcome 🥱 I know this isn’t much of a job compared to some of the projects we all undertake, but I do feel it’s a simple and straightforward solution to a clumsy design.

Their technical team, will investigate the issues and get back to me in due course. Might be a bit late now that I’ve sorted them out, but I will send them some images as it may help resolve future fitting issues 😊

Final fit tonight. Happy with them now but they could easily have been made better and not required modifications Wife thinks I’m a bit daft, hacksawing and drilling a brand new set of exhausts. She’s usually right. Anyway: They now fit as I see they should, unhook the spring on the header, one hanger bolt and they slide off (and back on again..) Next job, re-bush the clutch basket drive gear on my 350…..

Staggering that in this day & age they get away with zero QA, but then if their customers fix the issues that shouldn’t have left their premises I doubt it’ll improve..
