I found the old thread on exhausts recently, and discovered quite a lot of the pics spoilt by Photof**kit, and some deleted altogether. The subject of exhausts is a popular one on the forum, so I thought we could create a new, better thread. We would get to see all types of pipes on Lc's and Pv's, and you can add your thoughts on fitment, finish, jetting changes, performance etc etc. It would be good to see dyno graphs where available, and vids of the pipes on running bikes a bonus too. We could list the different makes of pipes, keeping them all together, so maybe 1 week we add Allspeeds, then another week Microns etc, just to make it easier to reference. I can think of at least 10 different pipes available for our bikes, and there is more, so we could start with the popular main stream pipes, and eventually end up with the more exotic offerings from Japan, Malaysia etc. It's very much an interactive thread, so feel free to add your thoughts and pics/vids. I'll kick it off with Allspeeds Small can Allspeeds; 20160813_161356 by dusty miller, on Flickr 2015-09-27 10.02.02 by dusty miller, on Flickr 20171023_130637 by dusty miller, on Flickr 20171109_105347 by dusty miller, on Flickr Click on the pic for sound; 20171005_142919 by dusty miller, on Flickr Large can Allspeed/Gibsons; 25-2-12 027 by dusty miller, on Flickr 25-2-12 037 by dusty miller, on Flickr My thoughts on Allspeeds are they look awesome on Lc's and Pv's. Very old skool, and just as they were back in the day. I think they sound great, but I found the large can version a fair bit quieter than the small can 'speeds. Fit well, and the newer versions have an exhaust flange designed to stop the oily dribble on the downpipes. They are reasonably heavy, but well made. They are not known to improve performance by much, if at all, and jetting changes on an otherwise stock bike are not normally necessary. Lets see your Allspeed/Gibsons

I found the other day the Lc club magazine from 2003/4 with their exhaust tests as well now obviously that’s pre Kenny and Mutts but they do have a comprehensive test of what was available 20 yrs ago ( omg 20 yrs ago).

New Gibson "Allspeed" large cans They are quieter. Remember taking my Microns off back in the day and fitting large cans Was so disappointed for 30 mins That's how long it took me to remove the wadding out them Bloody lovely after that 😁 Steve

Awesome looking Pv's fells Any preference, looks wise, for small or large can on a valve ? On an Lc, my personal choice is small can, but I'm undecided on a Pv ! Dusty

Agree it has to be small can on an LC
Like both on a pv
I'll have to check my laptop for a few different pipe pics on bikes I've built over the years

New Gibson/ Allspeeds, unpainted mild steel; 20170618_151148 by dusty miller, on Flickr Not sure if these Allspeeds were made bespoke, or if they are Kh fitment ? Look good though; SS Allspeed GP - 350LC Close up 3 by dusty miller, on Flickr Matt black finish; DSCN3847 by dusty miller, on Flickr And the only vid I have of the large cans. Excuse the jumpy video - think it was the first time I ever used my phone to vid a bike DSCN2403 by dusty miller, on Flickr Always hard to get an idea of sound using a phone, but I found the large can Allspeeds significantly quieter than the small cans. Oh yes remember those, I’m after a set with small pipe outlets that should have cans fitted so I can remove the cans and run without silencers

Not sure if these Allspeeds were made bespoke, or if they are Kh fitment ? Look good though; They are my two up one side pipes custom made by Gibsons in stainless. They were the first ones with Micron style flange/fitting, which they then started to use on all their pipes... The original ones were made from a chopped up pair of scruffy Allspeeds by Richy Herbert, and those were used to show Gibsons what I wanted :-) The bike is my 666 Be'LC'bub build :-)

This is a set of Jim lomas pipes. I think they look great but didn't work very well on my bike.
This is a set of pipes from PS Tuning. These pipes worked very well on the bike, they were made specifically for my engine port timings. They are made from steel and need to be treated, i use two stroke oil on them. Here they are when the oil layers have built up

Post whatever pics of pipes you have, but if you can include a description and any thoughts on fitment, performance, pros and cons, that would be good and helpful. If you have pipes of unknown origin, guys may be able to identify them, as in the case of Alex's pipes (still don't know what they are !) Enjoy Dusty
