Does anyone know anything about these bikes? Being trying to find out but I keep on getting info about the new GSX 250R and that's a pants bike. Why am I asking? I love a slabbie but the 750 is out of my reach, however a 250 has popped up on eBay. I never even knew they existed!

Thanks Steve. That 750 is the cheapest I've seen by a mile but he's a bit far away! 250,400,750 I just love the way they look.

Don't see many about as they were made for the japanese market and Australian not sure what parts will be like to get for them. As Steve says the are screamers four cylinder pocket rockets that go to 20rpm. Make a ZXR,FZR also a CBR 250 👍

Owned a few 750s and 1100’s even the 750 is a rev monster. I’ve ridden a cbr250 the are like sewing machines the revs increase massively feel faster than they are as you are abnormally reving them. A 400 is better I’d also look on the old skool Suzuki forum you’ll often find them for sale. Generally cheaper alternatively buy a naked fightered one and buy the plastics for it. Imports are your friend as well. My last 750 was an import. I’ve some plastics I think left but I’m away in SA at the moment so can’t check.

Lads I am thinking about this seriously. The Jim Goose bike would be a budget breaker so...maybe one day, probably not.
In 1986 (I think) I was living in Florida and the local shopping mall had one on display. You could sit on it too. About $2400 for the 750 and I was instantly in lust. I check eBay every night and I think I'll look for a GSXR forum too, good idea Tim.

Regards the 250's, I would be concerned that parts availability may be an issue ? Worth doing some research to see what is readily available, not just service items but things like bodywork that will be specific for that model. Tanks will rot out like any other bike, plastics will split and crack, wiring will suffer age related issues etc. At least with the 750's, parts should be a lot easier to come by, both new and used as they were an official UK bike and therefore supported both by Suzuki as well as decent aftermarket manufacturers. I think a 400 version may be a closer relation to a 750 , the 250's not so, especially with the earlier models. Dusty

The 400s went to a beam frame relatively early in comparison to the 750/1100. What about a slingshot? J or K?

Thanks Steve. That 750 is the cheapest I've seen by a mile but he's a bit far away! 250,400,750 I just love the way they look. Alex he says it just needs a good run... riding it home would be a, cool b, an adventure and c, what it needs...

With Jon on this , It’s not that far. Train or plane up to Glasgow ride it home. I’ve collected bikes that have been just as far before.

That standard one in Harwich looks lovely - same colours and white wheels as the 1100H I had. The modded one seems a bargain considering the parts fitted, and matches the colours of the model you've just made

They both look good and frankly I'm amazed at how (relatively) cheap they are. The blue one looks just like the Florida bike. The red one is okay but he hasn't got the race rep thing correct in my eyes, and I'd want a standard bike really. All food for thought. There is another 250 on eBay but that's £2495...for another grand I get a 750. And parts! (good point Dusty). Riding back from Glasgow on an unknown bike...hmm. Though yes, it would be an adventure!

The Harwich bike looks mint in the pics. Cant be too many left as nice as that. An "H" model makes it around an 86/87 bike, so looking good at 37 years old.

Really? I am on arsebook but 'incognito' if you know what I mean. I'll contact him as I do need some questions answered. Mileage in KMS so a Jap import...is it restricted? Does it have an MOT etc etc.

Harwich bike looks amazing, OEM fairings too it looks like.
Im less sure on the look of the modded one and its got no filters...
Harwich isnt enough of an adventure when the wilds of Glasgow were on offer earlier perhaps. Its worth bearing in mind this history (which is somewhat made up - Hadrian built a big wall to keep Steve and his clans from advancing on Rome. Harwich was built to deliver Europeans to British soil for their holidays ...and provide us an escape route in case Steve's lot breached the wall!

A mate has just brought a 750 and he likes it a lot. That red one does look nice I agree with Dusty parts would be easier to get for a 750 than a 250 and also about making a offer 👍

Speedo is an Mph one, and mileage looks correct for the stated 47,748. Sometimes Marketplace doesn't give you an option for MPH for some reason ? So could be a Uk bike. Certainly looks well looked after in the pics, and the background suggests someone who cares about what he owns(possibly/hopefully !) They are great bikes, but as with anything, the way it's been treated and maintained means everything. If it's as good as it looks, it would make a lovely bike to own Dusty

And finally a reply. The bike isn't a UK one, it's been standing for over a year and has no MOT. The hunt continues...

Why? No Mot isn’t really a problem, standing for a while on these is normally not an issue. I’d be tempted to get some better pics look at any receipts work done etc they are a pretty bulletproof motor. New tyres, pads etc oil and filter should be ok

Tim, I really don't need another bike project is why, plus I'd have to get it back here somehow. I have the LC, the Popsicle and now Lora is giving me grief too. I'd like a bike I can just get on and ride for once! I'll bide my time. They do pop up on eBay quite often, and buying from FB is a bit like buying a bike from a magazine or MCN. If it goes tits up you are stuffed.
