I remember when they came out and was impressed by the tech and the looks, but as it wasn't picked up by racers and used on the track, I didn't think it was a solution to the problems with front forks. I did hear that racers didn't like the "dead" feeling from the front as there was no dive to speak of under braking, which helped them judge how hard they could hit the brakes. But like most Ducatis, it was a work of art.

I saw a NOS instrument cluster just recently for sale. Fuel cell should be able to be reproduced.
There was an early Tesi advertised on ebay for Ā£29k last year, it was for sale for at least six months.
New Tesi 3d for sale on ebay at the moment for Ā£32k.

I often drive past a house on the A308 towards Sunbury Alex, just past the petrol station. There are a number of bikes and cars slowly rotting away, uncovered and unused on the driveway in plain view, one of which is a Bimota !! Not a Tesi, but even so, sad to see Dusty

I think the general consensus now is that dive is actually a good thing as it steepens the head angle and quickens the steering for turn in. Plus like you say, gives more feel.

Massive fan of the āthesisā and obviously of anti dive it feels weird when you brake and your forks donāt dive. Mine is very odd and always feels like you arenāt braking. The designs of odd front ends havenāt had the money spent on it due to the conservative nature generally of riders. The hossack front on some BMWās and the Yamaha gtr are exceptions rather than the rules. Iād love a tesi or a vyrus

Hi mate Yea, just past the Bp station, junction of A308 and School road. You wont miss it - looks like Steptoe's yard out the front Beware though, if you thought an Lc resto was expensive, a Bimota will be light years ahead in cost I would imagine it's too far gone for a sensible project. Dusty

Johnny probably has an idea of the cost/time frames etc Alex let us all know what it is, hopefully itās a hb2/sb2 that he is happy to let go of. I think the hardest thing would be the early 16 inch wheels. If he is anything like my dad was he will be emotionally attached and tell you to bugger off š

Bimota tesi are a very cool bike š Would definitely make an interesting project but the parts would be hard to get. Saw a couple of clips of a man who found a early Kh 500 in the woods in America it had been their for 41 years and he is trying to get it running in the woods. And also saw their was a man who had 5000 bikes in buildings not getting used and rotting away over 200 Triumph's and a band new Suzuki RE5 but he wouldn't sell them.

Some Bimota parts are very expensive and difficult to obtain. I did contact Bimota Classic Parts and were quite helpful However the YB3 parts I required were not available, as they seem to stock mainly road bike spares, but they put me intouch with an Italian company that made replica fuel taps, other parts I ended up making myself. They stock, frames, forks, wheels, Tanks, Yokes, bodywork, and loads of fittings ect for many bikes so you never know you might be lucky Have a look at the photos in the Facebook link www.bimotaclassicparts.com/www.facebook.com/bimotaclassicYou could also try Bimota Spirit Their was a Bimota Forum which was very good but it seems to be off line now.

You have to do your research before buying a Bimota. Unless you know people who can make the parts you can no longer buy.
I bought a spare new engine for my VDue just so I had spare parts for the future. I also got a full carbon front fairing and a genuine carbon seat unit just in case it was dropped. Some of us have recently grouped together to get some new Carbon airboxes made by a company in Sardinia, so it's important to know the right people to help you.
For me the Tesi 3D is the one I want the most.

Thatās what I loved so much about bimota, owned and ran by enthusiasts. Original early bimotas ground breaking designs, followed by their road bikes, kb1, hb2, sb2 proper ground breaking bikes perimeter frames, 16 in wheels all when the average bike handled like a pig on a roller skate, the Tesi (thesis) originally designed as a design thesis, the V Due a 2 stroke they built themselves. Yes they built some sketchy bikes ( mantra) but I would love one. Iāve come close a couple of times but never made the leap. Fabulous bikes fabulous company š

I have it in my head that the one in Ashford maybe a Yb10 (1000cc Yam engine), but it's a long time since I've seen it. Used to be just bikes on the drive but there is now a Gazeebo with a Vw bus underneath it, so bikes are buried even more. They have been there years. Uncovered, in all weathers. Just an engine rebuild on a 20 valve Fizzer engine would be enough to put me off, let alone the rest of it ! Think I read that some of the Bimota frames are glued in certain places, with some kind of Aerospace goo ? Not sure if that applies here, but it's got "nightmare" all over it Be interested in how you get on though Dusty

To be honest I'm just curious to see what is actually there. And if the chap says he'll sell the Bimota for a very very cheap price (unlikely) I'll just be there to have a looksie. However...if he agrees then yes I'll buy it and for a brief moment I can say I owned a Bimota.

The day dawned, and with a growing unease I ventured forth towards the fabled town of Sunbury. As I neared the BP station the mist rolled in from the hills and the temperature dropped rapidly. But I saw my destination up ahead, ravens were roosted on the battlements and the remnants of many poor lost vehicles were strewn around the place, as if smote by some mighty and unseen hand. Slowly what appeared to be some form of pick up truck loomed into view, a gnarled and rusty thing, it looked as if it had been tortured before discarded as if it were a broken toy. Others came to sight, a Karmann Ghia shell, a VW camper and my limbs froze with the shock of seeing a wreck of a trike. Vainly I peered through the mist hoping to find the sacred Bimota but alas no motorcycles were evident. There was a door down a oil stained path, a mighty oak panelled thing with a pentagram nailed to it. It seemed to be dripping blood, but it might have been power steering fluid. I shuddered inside and slowly approached the door. Dare I knock? Hands trembling I rapped on the door, then harder, hoping to stir the evil that dwelt inside. There was no answer. I turned around and prayed I could find my way back to the blessed BP station through the now thick and clammy fog. I stumbled into old wheels, looms, pistons and a host of other rusted parts, finally reaching the safety of my car. With all haste I fled, the fog lifted and I spied a sign for Shepperton, and safety... Okay, okay I exaggerated a little but there really was a pentagram on the door. And not one bike... Alex

It was a bit unnerving to be honest! That pentagram worried me a bit too...I don't drive that way often but next time I do I will knock again. I'll just be wearing body armour and carrying a crossbow with silver tipped bolts.

I think I'd be better off arriving on a VW trike with a Hells Angels patch, reeking of oil and tobacco and saying I was sent by Lucifer himself. Still, I'll try again next time I'm passing. Just hope it's not passing from this world to who knows...
