Hi all, As you may know, the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Stafford show is coming up on the 15/16th October. In my opinion, it's the best show for all the bikes we like on this forum, and probably the only show I bother going to nowadays. Sadly, Norbo hasn't got a stand this year - it's normally a focal point for forumers to meet, and also to ogle some very tasty Lc's, but it seems the organisers have overlooked Norbo's brilliant set up - I'm sure he has won best club stand in the past - no mean feat when you see the professional quality of some of the stands, so no invite seems crazy. It also means Yamarks fantastic 4 cylinder Lc wont appear which is equally as crazy. Mark has been building the bike with a deadline for the show, and has pulled out all the stops to have it ready. I know he has applied to show the bike independently, but has been turned down with no reason as to why ? Now I know we on this forum have been really lucky to follow the build each week, and Mark's detailed pics have been worth waiting for each Sunday, but you have to see the bike up close to fully appreciate what a work of art this monster is. I popped over to Mark's a couple of weeks back and it is just incredible ! His triple Lc was brilliant, but this is another big step up and needs to be seen to be appreciated. I honestly believe this is worthy of "Best in Show", which is a shot in the arm for Yamaha 2 strokes, and firmly keeps our bikes at the top of the classic 2 stroke tree !! Mark isn't an engineer by trade, but self taught which makes his builds even more exceptional, and the standard of detail in even the smallest of components is fantastic. I know Chris - CBM - added a link to email the organisers, which I have done, and I will repost the link here so maybe you guys could find the time to do the same. Maybe we can get Marks fabulous build there after all, and everyone can get to see it and enjoy it. Mark can then win "Best in Show", win fame and fortune and buy us all a "large one" in the bar !! redirect.viglink.com/?key=71fe2139a887ad501313cd8cce3053c5&subId=1564063&u=https%3A//www.staffordclassicbikeshows.com/contact/Thanks Chris for adding the link and getting the ball rolling Dusty

Hi Dave Think you have to be a member of the Lc club, and I dont think Mark is. Dusty yeah, I was thinking if he knew some one, or maybe they would have it as a guest bike because of its uniqueness

I suppose he could try that avenue. I hope I haven't embarrassed him with this post - as you know he is a pretty humble guy - but I cant believe a bike as unique and awesome as this cant be included. I know his Triple got a lot of interest on Norbo's stand back in 2018/19, but this makes the triple look small, if that's possible - the 4 cylinder engine is immense and looks factory ! I know Mark has another special build lined up, and it is the right moment to show this now it's finished, and Stafford is the perfect place to do it. We've got a month to change their minds !! Dusty

Nice one Dusty ๐ I actually had a missed call (01507-529429 ) an hour or so after filling out the link page which when I Googled it came up as nmowbray@mortons.co.uk. I've called back twice and left a voicemail each time but not heard back as yet so sent an email to the address Google came up with. As you've said, Mark is without doubt a very humble Guy which is why the rest of us need to blow his trumpet, steady vicar, for him

Well unfortunately the direct route via Morton's seems to be a non runner. I had a call from Nick Mowbray yesterday pm to say as things stand there's nothing they can do as "every inch of the halls are allocated and set in stone". He was keen to point out that they would be more than happy to welcome Mark to one of their future shows (hardly the point huh) and have him as a "standby" for October if he'd like to contact them. Fingers crossed Foxy's plan comes to fruition and the bike will be there after all

Cheers for the update Chris I know Mark has accommodation booked from way back so not sure the "standby" route would work sadly. I wouldn't want to truck it up there and not get in, and have to leave it in the back of the van I know he is already onto the next project, so if the bike doesn't make Stafford I'm not sure he will bother with other shows in the future. I know with my own projects - once they are done you move on pretty quick. The timing would have been perfect for the 4 cylinder at Stafford in 4 weeks time. In guess the fact this show has been hit hard over the last couple of years means there is a renewed excitement around it, but you do see the same bikes year after year on a lot of the stands. Fingers crossed for Foxy's idea Dusty

Just the biggest thankyou to all of you. You guys and this Forum are amazing.
I wish to especially thank Dusty and CBM- you have been brilliant.
I've messaged foxyjohn, and hope he thanks anyone in the LC club that have "Kicked any tyres", or "greased any wheels" to try to get the 700LC at the show.
Lastly, thanks John for your help so far.
A very humbled Mark

Well, some great news Spoke to Mark briefly yesterday - he is away for a few days - and he has had confirmation that his bike will be on display on the Lc club stand at Stafford this October 15/16th Massive thanks to Foxy, who has made this happen, and obviously the Lc club boys for finding the space to fit the 700 in Mark will be there with the bike on both days so plenty of opportunity to have a good look. Cheers Foxy, and the Lc Club, and to all here that sent emails Dusty

I'm just looking at buying a ticket for Saturday and looking at train prices as an option. The cheapest is ยฃ96 return and I've still got to get to the station in Hull and then from Stafford to the actual showground so driving or possibly riding it is then. It was my Wifes suggestion. She's just bought a Hull to Manchester return for ยฃ13.00 To save me from 3 plus hours driving and a long day I was thinking of stopping over on the Saturday and I noticed camping at the showground is available. Is anyone using the campsite or used it before? I'm going to look for nearby hotels but I looked a couple of weeks ago and they're pretty full up near to the venue.

Try looking on air BnB Steve, that's what we're doing, not bad priced either I've just booked a Hotel in Stafford for the Saturday Night, ยฃ55. The camping at Stafford is ยฃ50 so unless there is some good entertainment there I'll skip the tent . I don't actually know what Air BnB is TBH. I was informed last year that B&b doesn't actually mean Bed and Breakfast anymore when I booked a B&B that didn't have a breakfast! I just had a look at Air BnB and there is something on there that I might swap mine for so thanks for the heads up

Yep, to all who emailed, to Chris for starting the ball rolling and providing links, and ultimately Foxy, for getting on the Lc club stand, thank you all The Lc club boys - take a bow, I'm sure we all appreciate you finding room at the 11th hour for Mark's bike, and I have no doubt it will fit right in with the other awesome specials on the stand. I know Mark will be over the moon that the bike will be there. Even last year, at the early stages of the build, he was aiming to have it completed for Stafford 2022, so it's been a long time in the planning to have everything aligned, and thankfully it's all come good, thanks to you guys Dusty

Looking forward to it massively . The last show I went to was the NEC in about 1996. I said at the time it was like walking around a giant bike showroom full of brand new bikes that didn't interest me much mainly because I couldn't afford any of them. The bike I found most interesting was the Kenny Roberts KR500 triple. Stafford is not going to be like that. We will probably walk past each other without knowing who we are. maybe we should wear a badge with our forum name on or a white carnation? Mark should be easy to spot, he'll be stood next to this fantastic 4 cylinder creation beaming
