Looking really nice, but....the clutch perch should be nice and smooth on top. It looks like someone has put too long a bolt in and bust through the top. Wouldn't say normally, but as you're doing a top job, thought it was worth mentioning, especially before the grips go on.

Looks good tho, I always love bolting clean and new stuff on like youre doing here.

Appreciate the comment - and always welcome constructive criticism from members here - as I gone through this rebuild - I keep running into little issues like this - and I end up torn between keeping stuff original , with all the scars and marks accumulated over close to 40 year life and keeping some of the history, or, just replacing with new - replace with new has won most of the battles so far - you are right though, it looks chewed up and stands out - decision to be made I reckon - I have small list of stuff so far that I not 100% happy with , there is a few things that I may revisit - thanks for the feedback -

Same with mine, I started wanting totally mint, restored etc, but now have battle scars, and age related marks. Also have original unpainted bodywork that has a deep scratch on the tank, bit of a dilemma whether to change or keep as is.

I gone through the same thought process - when I deciding whether to replace rather than keep stuff - always makes me think of Triggers Broom from Only Fools and Horses - haha

Thought I do quick update - spent a lot of recent time doing crappy jobs - stripping rubbing back the exhausts ready for paint - trying to get the inside of the tank clean with Deox-C has been a couple of weekends lost - and still not done - so last two weekend jumped back onto something a bit more enjoyable - built a set of clocks from two bad ones ( one kph/one mph ) created a decent set, with just a very small crack right of the temp gauge, over the winter , plan to do a fuller refurb of them - but for now get me going - and went back to finish the last of the connector/wiring to complete the new loom and fitting indicators - couple of pics to follow- coming up to close to two years now - and very close to being able to start her up again - plan to get running for the summer - then have all the bodywork/tank painted over the coming winter, and go back and finish off some of the detail - desperate to ride it this year- last time took a PV on the road was 1989 (F2)
