Hi all
I’m trying to find the differences between the n1 & n2 ypvs, as both listed on eBay. I know the n1 was only produced for 1 year, but is there a power or spec difference. I’m not really a fan of the clip ons, so I would change yoke, risers etc. has anyone else done this. Thanks

Would it not just be easier to buy an Lc2 ?

Just buy the hybrid in the for sale section
N1 is quoted as 59hp and n2 63hp but in reality the n1 will feel faster
N2 peak power is at 8500rpm, n1 at 9500
In reality there is feck all in it
A nice hybrid will blow them both off 😉

Would it not just be easier to buy an Lc2 ? Gunny I like the LC2,It was my first choice when I started looking for an RD. they are £1-2k more than the n1 or n2 though. I don’t want to make the wrong decision, so I’m just researching at the moment.

So that’s an n2 with the clip ons swapped out if I’m not mistaken. I like it!!

So that’s an n2 with the clip ons swapped out if I’m not mistaken. I like it!! Apart from the modifications listed by MLC, the under seat panels and ducktail are LC2 except the bikini fairing is not fitted making it look like an N1. The N2 and F2 under seat panels and ducktail were one piece each side with the unobtainium joiner holding the two parts together to the rear of the seat The tank is a giveaway too with its offset proud filler cap, N2 and F2 were central and flush mounted HTH

The N1/F1's responded to tuning much better than the N2/F2's. My mate had his F2 Stan Stephens production tuned and it was slow compared to the LC2's and N1/F1's. I believe it's the ignition limiting the revs. Yamaha opened the inlet ports out on the 2's. They looked similar as standard to what Stan used to do but for some reason limited the revs. From what I heard the power jet carbs on the 2's are not well thought of either. Another mate had a similar tuned F1 and it was a flyer.
On the other hand the 2's wheels are a bit lighter and the bike itself is lighter overall. I think you'll have a much wider choice of bikes going for an N2/F2 myself.

I have an F1 converted to N1 and honestly it revs well into the redline. It goes really well for being near enough standard

Hers the one in the for sale section Steve Looks nicely put together, but for me the stance isn't quite right. Not sure if the swing arm looks a little short or it is the forks. Or maybe I'm just talking bollocks

Or maybe I'm just talking bollocks Makes a change the swinging arm being too short if it is 😀. Most hybrids look like drag bikes with 4" over wheelbases. To be fair it's hard to get a photograph of a bike that reflects what they look like in real life. One of the mags did an article about it. Move further away and zoom in you end up with a completely different looking bike to close up and zoomed out.

If I remember correctly that FZR swing arm is very near the length of the standard arm
The forks ain't far off length wise either
Maybe we are all brainwashed by the shorter RGV forks and longer RGV arm
That's not a criticism as I have one of those too

I'm going to do the opposite on the TR
I'm going to make the stand too long so I have to put a block under each wheel or find a pot hole to stick the stand down 😆
