Always thought the Fahron 370 idea was the best bet. But I do wonder what's involved...do they rebore to 370 and supply pistons? As I can't see the 250 liking that much metal machined out. Also I guess you'll need a 350 oil pump too. And carbs. Or is it a lot simpler than that?

A few guys here have the Fahron 370 conversion. It gets good feedback. Ron has been doing them for years and his work is top notch. Yea, bit of a wait, but the good guys are always busy Good news on the condition of the engine Chris - makes for a great start Dusty

Chris If your barrels are on a good standard bore it might be worth selling them on and sourcing a worn out set for conversion. You can pick up a rough set of barrels cheap enough as Ron will be boring out the old liners and replacing with new. He also machines the chambers in the head for the 66mm bores. His work is spot on Cash from the good barrels would get a rough set for machining plus a 350 pump and worm drive. Just a thought John

Would it be just more hassle to sell then try to find a cheep worn out set??? I don't know π€you may be right

Hi everyone ,I'm back working on the LC now I've finished Alex's swing arm .well I've changed my mind on the front end ,I have picked up of a mate who brake's bike's a complete Yamaha 600 Fazer Front end ,comes with really good condition discs and blue spot callipers, front muddy yokes, even front break master cylinder,I got it for a great price so I had to have it . I'm not going to use the cranked back bar riser's I've got some I brought for the fzr front end .the forks are 41 mm the fzr are 38 mm so the fazers are more chunky and the fazer Front wheel matches my rear wheel (once I've sanded out the lines in the spokes). So today I pressed the stem out cut 20 mm out from it ,made a internal sleave up ,prepped the ends pressed the sleave in then welded it back together with a root ,hot pass and cap ,sorted ! And it fits a treat so the front end is in happy days π I've also been getting the rear wheel in the centre so I can get measurements for the spacers ,I used a plump line and Lazer level took some fafing but it got it spot on them got the measurements I needed so tommrow I will make them on the lathe πthanks Chris

Thanks dusty πI'm pleased with it I will do away with the little fork protectors I'm not keen on them , the forks will need a re chrome as they have pitting but so did the fzr ones ,it's difficult to find a mint set of stantions .

Looking good Chris lovely welding skills, great idea using a laser to get things lined up π I was told by nigel at nk racing the only place he uses to level the frame was the swingarm pivot not sure if that's any help to you,I know These frames are hard to get reference points from. The rgv arm I used are 5mm higher at one side at the rear I thought it was twisted but nigel said there all like that it was driving me mad π. It is satisfying getting everything lined up well worth the time and effort π Rob

Hi Charles, it may not be 5mm maybe 3mm but its definitely higher on the left hand side sprocket side, I had it levelled in the frame at the front than when I put a level across the studs at the back it showed to be out. I was concerned the wheel would be tilted also but once all is bolted up its showing to be bang on level and plumb swingarm/wheel it doesn't make sense to me either. It may be a crude way of checking using levels but I mentioned it to nigel and he said when he puts them in a jig and lowers them down one side touches first? I have read somewhere to not to rely on the marks on swingarm when aligning the wheel cause there normally out. Cheers Rob

We'll never get bored of watching this come together Chris Awesome work as always. And it's not easy grinding back the lettering and raised edges on the "spokes", but it makes a massive difference to the finished wheels. Great effort Dusty
