You could have a pair for that, a tidy bounty 4L0 and a ‘dark chocolate’ bounty 4L1 to keep it company!

Theyre only original once... hmm...
At this point its only an 'investment bike' I'd say, stick 5k miles on that over a few summers or ride it through the winter and its just another used bike. I cant see anyone doing that.

Only 700 miles but had a 4K recommission so it’s a restored bike then ! Might be the way the picture has been taken but the engine numbers look a bit odd to me.

Agreed. The engine number looks like it's been ground and re-stamped or a new top case has been put on that doesn't have the ribbed background.

I spotted this. I was wondering if its a good refurb or nearly as new original. Looking at the forks, they appear to have been polished and are better than factory. High price considering its early on. I suspect his buddy may be bidding on it

For what this bike is fetching it needs to be the Holy Grail of LC’s, there needs to be no discrepancies with engine numbers and that claimed mileage needs to be backed up with a full service history or MOT history, doubt it’s got either ! Yes a very good restore but deffo not an original bike ..just my tuppence worth ..

Sell Sell Sell looks like the Bubbles just burst !! 😂 Doesn't look like a burst bubble to me, looks more like a rapidly inflating one, if people are prepared to pay that sort of money for them, it aint bursting anytime soon, also at the end of the day, if the bubble bursts, its only the investors that will get burned, not the real LC fan, they will be able to buy loads of cheap bits. I would have liked to have kept all the bits I sold off my current bike, but to fund what I want to do I had to, that's just the way it goes sometimes, you can't have everything you want in life. You have to pay the going rate if you want something, regardless what it is, no good wishing it wasn't so.

Why did Yamaha sell replacements without the grooves was it purely to make it easier to re-stamp your code on?

If it was a quality picture, it would show a grooved surface with the numbers on. If it is a restored bike, fresh paint on frame and "tins".. I dont think its worth any more than a quality rebuilt bike. It looks very well done, the brake lines are correct and "new" looking. Id love it...but not at whatever price it fetches.

I reckon the engine number is fine. As Steve says the pic is poor quality. I think i can see the lines. Also, the engine isnt repainted as its very hard to keep paint out of the numbers like it shows in the pic, thats OEM.
