Crages Honda 12 Otley Rd, Baildon, Shipley BD17 7SE Phone: 01274 800050
I perchanceed a bike from them on the 15th Feb 2018 . I was told it would come with the receipt and the V5 . It came with nothing . Ever since then i have tried ringing spoke to them many times they assured me it would be posted and still nothing came . 1 Time the owner sid it was on his table and he would get it out that day . Turns out it didnt have a UK V5 they told me they sent it of to the DVLA with my name and address and said as it used to be from the uk they were trying to get that same reg back, Since then i have had nothing . I rang them again at the start of Nov and asked them what was going on and the bloke i spoke to said the person dealing with it wasn't in but would call me Monday . I asked him to put a note on his table that i wanted my receipt for the bike with the date i had it from them posting out Monday no matter what elce i want this doing he sod he would . I have had nothing and no one has called.
Im so annoyed Thought id let you know how crap Crages Honda is ,. feel free to call them and ask what they have for sale and you understand they dont give you the V5 for almost a year later and is this still the policy as its all over the net how crap they are

Never used them Norbo but good to know how they treat their customers I have looked at a few of their bikes over the past year but just too far away for me to view in person Should start up a sticky note on all the bad dealer reviews as there have been quite a few mentioned recently. Might just help some of the forum members decide on where to spend their money - or not if poor service is the case.

well feel free to say you have been looking at a couple of there classic bikes but you understand they take a year to send out the V5's and you wont be risking it but thought they should know people are talking about them on the net may be they will pull there fingers out . They say they will give no compensation ether .

That is terrible service. Incompitent and dishonest, surly they wont stay in business for long if they carry on like that especially with social media these days spreading the word quickly. Hope you get the v5 and reciept Norbo. Unfortunately alot of the honest friendly small bike shops have closed now especially around Gloucester and Cheltenham.

I thought it would have been illegal to delay the V5 as it would be difficult for the new keeper to prove ownership should he or she wish to sell on or tax etc. Are they just being Lazy or are they crooks as well? What is the old saying about looking after your customers and they will come back again and again? The more bad publicity ar*eholes like this get then the sooner they will be out of business. I now for sure won't be giving them any time in the future and certainly pass my views to my biking buddies here too.

There’s a thread on the Ducati forum about rubbish dealers. Unbelievable how these companies stay in business the way they treat their customers.

they just called me said he just read my post and he didn't know i hadn't had it yet ., But as i pointed out he called me on Oct to ask if i had it and i told him then i had not so he did know. Then his second comment was i need to learn to spell if i was going to post stuff on the net . I told him thanks for taking the piss about my spelling i am dyslexic and have trouble focusing on words and letters . But thanks for pointing that out. he then said he will look in to it and never the less i need a V5 and he will sort it . i said its almost a year so lets see what if anything they do . I asked for a receipt as well with the date i got the bike from them so lest see if that comes . If it wasn't for spelling be highlighted in red head have a lot more to take the pis out of as i correct most of what i do . its really not fun but most people that know me know im dyslexic but it does bring it home when a person takes the piss about it .

I would go down there and demand a receipt be given before you leave.
Have you talked to trading standards as this is not the first time they have done this. Arrange for the trading standards officer to meet you there.

Hi Norbo, the receipt is the key.
When my wife bought her last car the dealer lost the logbook somehow.
She just applied for it through DVLA and it was sent within weeks.
They probably contact the owner on the logbook to check it’s legitimately sold?

They shouldnt be selling classic bikes, they both do not have the customer care or experience to understand, work on and prep these types of bikes.
In Feb 2016 my supposed road tested and "expertly" prepped RD500 was delivered with a seriously split oil tank (which they knew of) , a snapped throttle cable and wouldnt run right as 1 main jet had unscrewed itself from the carb...more serious problems transpired over the time I had the back due to it standing for so lon.
Despite having a fresh MOT, it wasnt roadworthy, I received £250 compensation from Craigs Honda after complaining in writing.
It also took 3 attempts to get a log book, one arrived with 750cc on it, they did at one point suggest I could apply for it myself...which i declined.
Another lad on this very forum complained his RD500 ran backwards within the last 12 months, that came from Craigs Honda, I understand that was returned to them for refund.
There is another chap on the RD500 forum who also bought a bike from them only a month or 2 back and that was delivered with a host of running faults.
A place to browze around but not buy from for sure...wheres the Facebook link?

Not getting the V5 is one thing, taking the piss is unacceptable in any situation! I can't believe they would say that, just shows total disrespect.

Can’t believe they are actually a Honda dealer... doesn’t add up really. You shouldn't expect this from a normal garage, never mind a Honda dealer!!!

What a bunch of pisstakers, how can they still be in business?! Terrible service for sure and rude about it, that sort of attack comes from guilt. a'holes.
Out of interest what bike was it Norbo? I assume it was a classic bike, was it a 500 as people mentioned above.

Its not that uncommon, I bought a new Kawasaki Versy 1000 from kawasaki Orrell near wigan, It came with a plate etc, it wasn't until I tried to book it on a ferry 3 months later that I found out it wasn't actually registered at all, when I went to have it out with them I was accused of over reacting. I thought ok, I'll complain to Kawasaki UK, they couldn't have given a shit either, they investigated it (phoned the shop) and told me I was over reacting.
Bottom line is I will never buy either from the group that owns Orrell (which is basically every Kawasaki dealer in the North West) or buy a Kawasaki (I've bought at least 10 new ones in the past) f**k um. I sold the unregistered bike back to orrell by the way, took a shit on the price I got even though what I should have got was a full refund, they then had the cheek to plead for my help with the registration of the vehicle, I fooked them around till the cows came home, took them about 4 months to geta plate on it but the cheeky b*****ds registered it on the next new plate.
Have they sorted the issue yet Norbo?

Sounds like they are acting as brokers and are on a percentage of the sale.. that makes sense as some of the stuff I've seen is overpriced. Sellers must think that they will get more for a bike by using their "reputable" dealership. Letter to Honda UK might be in order..

There are good bike shops too.
Black Dog in Ashford Middx (close to me) is brilliant. No job too small or big and if I want a tyre changing it's a tenner and normally done while I have a coffee with the owners. Great classic bikes (and new) for sale. I lust after the orange Jota they have!

Norbo - Sorry to hear about the problems you are having but I'd just like to compliment you on how you are dealing with this - BRILLIANT!
In my opinion "social media" sucks but this is a massive positive.
Power to the people - lol

Also agree with how you are dealing with this Norbo. Don't let this one comment get you down because everyone who regularly reads your posts understands what you are saying, which is the main thing. There are a huge number of people who post on internet forums who can't spell through sheer ignorance or stupidity, but you are definitely not one of those people, so don't let it worry you.
