This is so surreal I can hardly believe it. GF went to the US Embassy yesterday and then rang me to meet up at a local coffee shop at 2.30. I set off about 2 and she is not there. Rang, no answer, texted and about 3pm get a call to say she's run out of petrol and will be there shortly. She arrives, everything seems fine, then goes outside and sits on the only chair left, I suggest we go inside and she refuses. I ask her to come away from the table and talk to me. A flat NO. Women I thought and drove home. Getting to my (communal) garage I see a red rose and a mouldy banana skin on it. Eh? Then the lock wouldn't open, it seemed glued on. Went upstairs to my flat, and saw a bit of broken glass by the front door. Unlocked the door and oh no. The place is trashed. Maybe £10k worth of damage, called the cops, forensics have just been. Can't send pics at the mo as she stole all my pc dongles, along with an antique lava lamp and my very expensive leather bike jacket. Smashed all my basses too including one that is on eBay. And that money was for effing groceries. Got some tools and managed to unlock the garage and then saw her set of flat keys in a corner. It was my gf all along. To say I'm stunned is an understatement. Not sure what to do know, sitting here surrounded by glass and ruined pictures, models, basses and all my other belongings, some irreplaceable.

WTF??? Watch your back Alex.. Stay safe bud. Get locks changed straight away, and wedge access doors until they're changed. Empty tins are a good temp alarm system...… She's dangerous

2 am now and finally the glass is cleared up. Forensics done, cops been. Sitting here looking at my shattered world. Nothing is worth trying to save. My precious 57 Jedson bass is in bits. How the f**k can my life get any worse. I care for my mum who now has the onset of Alzheimer's and my carers allowance gets reduced every month. The bass I had listed on eBay is now ruined so I will cancel that and say sorry to the bidders. That was due to end tomorrow and was doing well...and was food money. The way this is going I may have to bite the bullet and sell a bike, and I only have one worth any real money. Yes, the LC. The bike that was brought back from the dead and is now so close to being finished.
Never been at such a low ebb. Maybe it's the lateness of the hour.

Police just called me they have found her, alive and as well as can be expected. They will call me back later to discuss where we go from here.
I'm just relieved she's ok.

Update. Police got that all wrong she is still at large. How the feck that happened....oh well. Finally got a call from the investigating officer and he says as I am trying to avoid taking her to court they are not looking for her. What? He says if I want to press charges then that is the only way to go really. So I said yes, will give him more details in an email tomorrow. Glad I changed the locks now and also glad that I am hyper aware of my surroundings as I still have images of her with a bread knife hiding somewhere.

Whaaat ! Surrey Police at their finest, yet again ! Pressing charges is the only way she will get help and allow you to move on. I know that's not what you want to do, but it's your only real option. Dusty

Alex. Cannot comprehend how you must be feeling right now. But try to take some support from all the above messages. Further I agree with Norbo. It is time to move on. Whilst my ex did not trash the house she was very cunning psychologically and planned her financial get out clause costing me many an LC. Apparently she had a track record of this. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and I thought I knew her. However all good now, and put it all behind me, although it was painful at the time. I hope all ends positive Alex and you too can move on, Best wishes

Alex she should be deemed an adult at risk and a vulnerable misper (missing person) that is ridiculous. They have a duty of care whilst someone is that fragile and at the very least should detain her for a sec 136 assessment. Also you can withdraw support for a prosecution once she is found. I hope that she is found safe and well, moving on as others have said you owe to yourself to put you first, take care buddy.

Once again a huge thanks to all of you on here. The support and kind words really has helped. Yes this is now a criminal case and the police are hunting for her. As for insurance, I have none. Still not cleaned up all the damage in my flat but so far my list reads, broken stuff £5K, stolen stuff £1k. Oh...one odd thing even though she wrecked all my basses the one I had on eBay sold last night, even though the buyer is aware of the damage.

Another update. She's on FB and a friend has done some research. She posted yesterday she is stuck at a motorway services, no money, no fuel and even listed her bank details so people might 'donate' money. So I'm guessing my bike jacket and all the other stuff she nicked has been sold. Informed plod who don't seem bothered. Told them go there and get the CCTV for 6.24pm and see her drive in...get her reg number (no I don't know it) and then everyone's ANPR will light up if they drive by her.
Astounds me that I have to do all this...wtf are they all doing? Eating donuts at Costa?
