UPDATE. It's time for "WHY IS NOTHING EVER EASY???" Bike is pretty much back together now. I will be starting it up tomorrow now the pump has been lovingly fettled by Arrow.....Thanks Gary Problem I have now is the top fairing does not line up to mid fairing panels. It took me ages to get it to mate up to the mid panels before the crash. But now the frame is straight, the forks are new & straight, the headlamp/fairing bracket is nos, so should be straight, so wtf now? Any ideas best option to resolve? The ideas I have are, in no particular order.... 1)Elongate mounting holes on bracket where it bolts onto headstock to get it to sit right. 2)Bend the mounting lugs for fairing on bracket to get it to sit right. 3)Bend the actual main bracket. 4)elongate the plastic lugs on the fairing. Any ideas welcomed before i f**k something up May do pictures tomorrow to show the problem. Thanks.

Undo all the brackets and fixing bolts so just finger tight
Fit the mid panels and fasten the fixing screws to join the plastics
Then try tightening the brackets to see if there is enough movement in the fixing points to align it
Failing that file the holes in the bracket that bolts to the headstock to allow it to sit correctly

Fitted now thanks Fitted the mid panels & belly pan as they were perfect. Wiggled top fairing to get most of the screws in. Just 2 of the top fairing screws I had to "lean" of the top fairing to get them in. Bit tight for my liking but fitted now. All back together now apart from front wheel has had to come off as have a weep from the damper rod bolt which just keeps spinning and wont tighten

Hi Jon. Yep new washers.nipped them up then thought I'd torque them when together so spring holds seat. Didn't work. Will borrow ratchet gun from workπ

No I did them up tight as they would go then intended to torque up to the low torque they should be when springs compressing on seat. Didn't work. I'm sure a clacky gun will sort it .

So i need to take apart to wash out the crap from the 1/2" dowel rod haynes say to use to hold the rod Question......what do you think the chances are of saving the seal if i leave it on the stanchion when i pull the fork apart? its brand new and not been anywhere yet??
