Just wondering what kickstarts people have fitted to an LC? I fancy something a bit more compact than the standard one.

Ive RD500 on my 421, drilled and tapped the 350 knuckle, pics on my build on my site.
Ive a YZ on a 350 knuckle as well, that will go on my hybrid 251LC. A project ive detailed on the RDRZ500 forum.
Ive also had Banshee ones, still got one but they often dont clear the footrests.

I'm only going by memory here but I don't think that the RG500 had a footrest fouling issue either?? I'd like to solve this fouling issue on my 350LC one day.

I have some nice ones and engraved tuning forks bolts for holding them on to give a better finish to them .

Is it possible to still use the 500's clever locking mechanism, or do you have to remove it for some reason?

I don’t see the problem with having to fold up the footrest better that than taking a gouge out of your ankle

Hi Alex As said, I couldn't remember who mentioned the pit bike kickstart, but it must have been Dave . It's cheap enough compared to an Rd500 or a Legend kicker. Worth a shot for sure Dusty

I had an expensive Legend kicker and that would hit the brake pedal on full "kick". Did think of chamferring the pedal so it missed but I went with a standard kicker in the end. I think the pit bike kickers look great for very little money. Dusty

Didnt the Legend one also rip itself out of the bolt threads, or did they fix that?

I had read that they did that, but some thread lock sorted it I believe.

Nope, thread lock didn't cure it completely, mine went so now have a converted 500 kicker fitted, shame as the legend one looked better.

Got the pit bike kicker on mine too after seeing yogi's and dave's on their bikes. It replaced a pattern one which rattled and flicked out whilst riding from new... Which was the main reason for changing it. The pit bike one is really good in that it doesn't rattle and locks back really securely. Loads better than the pattern crap I did have.
