I was 99% sure these were different sizes, but I cant seem to find any differences in the ones I have, can anyone confirm this for me and give me the sizes? thanks.

Since the swingarm and chain adjusters are the same, the spindle must be the same.

The spacer on the drum brake side is the same for both bikes and is approximately 29mm

I believe that the spacers on the 250 and 350 are the same, but I seem to remember that the LH and RH ones items 44 and 47 below are different  |

Hi having the same issue,
The 250LC and 350LC 4LO, 4L1 are different on the L/H side
Different part numbers also 250, 90387n156A8. 350, 90387 157A2
Can some one confirm the length of the R/H spacer fro a 350 please?

...should have gone to Specsavers...... :-) About 4 years ago i did as i was having problems reading micrometers etc, they sent me to the hospital. Turns out i only have 15% vision in my left eye. I just use a magnifying glass these days and bought a bigger telly. That was one of the reasons i asked you to write the sizes up on the gaskets i bought from you. |

Yes Athers, it seems the 250 RH spacer (part number 4L0-25383) is exactly the same dimensions as the 350 RH spacer (part number 90387-15115)
Well I said all was well, but Im really struggling with lining up my chain and I dont know if its something Ive done at the output sprocket or the wheel, this was to help me work out the wheel stuff... im working through this, but really it should all just line up :/

Ive been trying standard LC parts (engine, swinger and wheels) on both my normal LC frame (for my resto bike) and my modified LC frame thats for my 421. I get the same results bizarrely, which is making me wonder if ive done something very obvious... something only someone (yeah me) who reckons he knows what hes doing and has done of bunch of these would do... hmm... yeah an idiots oversight! Not a manual in sight when bulding etc (not strictly true of course) So... right now Im about 5mm off to the left (further over on the sprocket side) with the the wheel sprocket compared to the engine sprocket. I reckon the more ive pondered this, including this spacer chat, and running a string down to the wheel, that the wheels are ok, its the engine side. hmm... LC output shaft with LC sprocket spacer and LC sprocket on it :/
The other thing it could be is accident damage but its strange to have two frame with the same issue, 2 swingers, 3 axles and spacers and 3 wheels all giving the same results when tested. Ive borrowed another engine to check that but i cant see how that can be wrong, tho the engine sprocket doesnt seem to line up with the chain witness marks on the top of the swinger...

Which wheel are you trying to fit, as I thought the 350 was wider due to sprocket carrier etc compared to the 250's bushed arrangement on the wheel??

My theory is that they both fit in the same swingarm, so same size... When I measure from the swingarm to sprocket its the same dimension using either wheel.

One last thought, if anyone has their LC handy can they measure how far out the engine sprocket sticks out from the rounded part of the case where the seal sits? that measurement doesnt have to be perfect, but an idea would be useful. ta.

check which front sprocket spacer you have fitted, if you have fitted a YPVS one then they are longer by about 4mm/5mm and that would account for the problems

Look at your sprocket and or spacer, is it possible youve fitted an off set sprocket from one of your hybrids?

jonw does mention Standard 4LO output shaft , spacer and sprocket. If you use a YPVS spacer you cant fit the lock tab properiy under the nut.

Thanks guys, but yes its an LC output shaft with an LC spacer. If i fit the yovs spacer I can get the chains to line up.... but I shouldnt have to d that...
Athers, I'll check again today, but im 99% sure the LH 350 spacer is 14-15ish mm from memory. The 250 has a larger diameter plate on it, so you cant really confuse those plates, I'll check the length of the spacers today and report back, but looking at the sizes of the seals they fit into, they have a different diameter and hence will only fit the right plates.

You've probably already tried, but what about flipping the front sprocket around the other way? Or is it directional?

Its a flat sprocket and fits perfectly on the spacer...
