Hey guys. I don't know if any of you recall the Mars Bar 350LC I rebuilt last year for my good friend. Sadly, he passed away yesterday after a very short recurrance of his cancer. I hope to ride the RD in his funeral procession, which will be with full regimental honours and I'm over the moon he got to ride it once when we surprised him with the built bike late last year at the local bike meet. It was genuinely the happiest I ever saw him, and will be my lasting memory. I have some pics of the meet below, as I realise I never actually posted them after the act. Thanks for all that helped with the build, it really was appreciated. I spoke with him on a visit last week, and he expressed his wishes we're that I was to have the bike upon him taking his leave. Video of us first starting it with him... Link to video of him getting on He rode it shortly after. Myself waiting to spring the trap... His first leg sling over... Some more pics of the beast... Thanks again all.

You did him proud, what a great mate. Hope he rests in peace, with a grin on his face hopefully after his ride out. Great story, sad ending.

What a wonderful thing you did for him, he must have been over the moon with such an awesome gesture. So sorry this terrible disease took him from you. It's great that the Lc will be a lasting memory of him.
Best wishes

RIP. Cancer sucks! Lost my mum,my dad and my grandad to it. Had it myself 11 years ago, given 50/50,still here.(tonsil cancer) Came back in my tongue last year(just had section of tongue removed) It is the most horrible disease in the world, can strike anybody at anytime, nobody immune to it. Live everyday like it your last-because one it will be. Ride on.

Indeed, thanks troops. I may get to ride the RD in the procession next Sat, we've asked the Royal British Legion Riders and the club he was in to provide an escort, and the hearse is one of those Harley Davidson bike hearse jobs. It'll be interesting to see how that works with a military funeral, but I'll be the first bike in line if it happens. I'll pass on all your thoughts to his widow.
