Nice rad is it the same width as standard but with a 50mm core? All the best, enjoy. Mark. Yes Mark it's standard width but thicker, with an extra hose connection to the de-airation pipe on the power valve head.

Exactly the same as mine then but I don't have the extra pipe, as I have the LC motor. Yet to try it, still waiting for my pipes.

Well after all that time of playing with suspension, testing brake m/c's, striping the bikes, making small looms and general maintenance of brakes, wheel and tryes its all done and dusted!
I have a very big smile on my face and a few aches and pains.
I don't know where to begin so I suppose at the beginning, but here is a picture that will keep me smiling for quite some time when I see it
This is Kees on the generally standard LC and me on the red hybrid.
Kees is a young man who lives in my village and I have a lot of contact with him. It was because of him we have decided to some track days.
After we packed up the Landy and trailer, we set off early the next morning and trundled off to the bottom of France. My father lives there so it was good to see him and also a good place to stop on the way to Cartagena.
The fuel economy of the Landy was bad and on the second stop I checked all the tyre pressures of the trailer and Landy and made a few adjustments. The fuel economy was now a bit better and the only thing that made a difference was the two drivers. I don't think I have to make comments on the different driving styles between a 50 and 20 year old driver.
In France it was horrible drizzly weather and I was hoping it was not the same in Spain as I had seen that we would have rain on the second day according to the weather forecast. When we left my fathers place it soon became apparent that the roads were very greasy. First the trailer broke out whilst going round a corner and then I could not stop sufficiently for a roundabout. (luckily no others drivers were around)
Knowing this I started to drive a little cautiously but this still happened.
I can only say I was going down hill with what I thought was plenty of room but the wheels just kept locking up and I could not stop in time.
They were very calm considering what had just happened. The man kept going on at Kees about his identity or licence until I showed him where the steering wheel was. I thought this would delay us big time but luckily for us the accident just knocked some mud out from around the bumper.
We were still delayed and it meant that we would not reach our campsite till late in the evening. I tried to find a hotel in Barcelona with secured parking but it was not happening due to the height of the Landy. We flattened out the load in the back of the landy and made a place where Kees could sleep and I drove further towards Cartagena
Because we drove non stop we arrived much earlier than planned but some of the people we would be riding with were also here.
I called this one the Battlestar Gallactica compared to what we came with
We could here the bikes already out on the track so we went and took a look and thought o no what have we signed up for this is serious sh*t
I will write some more tomorrow as i am on holidy and hate using this laptop

I want to update this thread but i can't upload the pictures.
It turned out that Kees was a bit of a natural and on the second day he was riding around the outside of the 600's (with slicks) only to get reeled in on the faster pieces. His best time was 2:01 and the average time for the racers was 1:55. He wore away the pegs and levers of the tarozzi rearsets, broke one gear lever off and decked the TSA's. He came in twice first with a broken gear lever and secondly when he decked the exhaust so hard it pulled out an exhaust stud and helicoil. (the stud was not so good to start off with) I raised the back up (I think 80cm from floor to bottom of seat lock) with the help of an instructor. He came back and said he liked it as he could turn into the corners easier. He then proceeded to deck the pipes. The instructor managed to cure this by teaching him to sit further off the bike.
It all started when i got cramp in my leg after two laps so i retired to the pits. The instructor said " i couldn't see him in my mirrors so i knew he was on the right line. I could hear him so i went a bit faster. I could still hear him so i went faster. f**k i can still hear him." when they came in the instructor jumped off his bike in excitement and told Kees he almost did a two minute lap on that old f**king thing.
On the third day it was warmer and he had 3 instructors try to help him break the 2 minute lap time. Kees was complaining that his tyres were sliding in the bends. When i felt them i was very surprised how hot and gummy they felt. One instructor was playing with the tyre pressures to try and get them running cooler. I guess i will have to get him some proper racing tyres. It would not be right to say the Bridge stones were not good enough. It would be better to say they can take a lot of stick before they give up.
So much happened i would like to tell this story with pictures. We also both fell off ouch.

I've known Kees since he was 9 and i have never seen him so happy and confident as those 3 days. The instructors wanted him to enter the race at the end of the last day. He had done a few practice laps and come into the pits but a few of the lads were shouting and encouraging to go back out and he did. I think he was too fatigued and made a mistake. Luckily he was not hurt but the bike has taken a bit of a battering.
In a way maybe it was also a valuable lesson for him as well. His instructor and the owner of Doc Shop give the lads a right bollocking for geeing him on. The same lads also said sorry to Kees later on. I think they liked what he was doing with the bike. He was told that he has potential and that he should come back with a modern 600cc four stroke. He hasn't even got a bike licence ha ha. i've seen him on his 50cc scooter and it worried me a bit and that is why i've been trying to get him to do some track days under instruction. Until Cartagena he hasn't really driven the RD. Now i have had a few messages asking my opinion about various adds he has seen for track bikes!
Me i just messed up the line on one of the bends and had a bit of a tumble the bike was ok. My best time was 2:14 compared with 2:01 from Kees. When he came in with a loose exhaust i gave him the hybrid bike. He liked the steering from the bike and found it lighter. He did not like the engine (70 pk). I have made it to be smooth with good midrange. It has 10 pk more than the bike he had(60pk) but his bike was more peaky and this is what he likes. I could only hear it screaming or hitting the rev limiter. I am also pleased i fitted the ignitech with the rev limiter because he has no mechanical sympathy.
I have repaired a few engines for him and i always ask him "Is this another sacrifice to the god of speed?" mostly pistons but it has also been crankshafts.
We had quite a few compliments about how the engines never blew up (thanks to ignitech) and in the three days we used just over 150 liters of premix with two bikes.

sounds a great trip surprised a few people on the LCs looks like everyone was getting involved in the end no onboard footage available great stuff Are instructor is called Fast Marky and he filmed Kees overtaking two of the modern bikes. Im still waiting to see the video. I made pictures but photobucket is not letting me copy the pictures any more. Most of the instructors are fifty plus and have raced TZ's so they have a soft spot for these bikes. The team manager for Doc Shop is an English man and when he saw the RD's all the stories came out about him and his mates on 125's, 350's and later 500's. His name is Greg Barnes, i had a good laugh with him. 300 euros for 3 day's on a track is not so expensive and i paid 300 euro's for 3 days training for the two of us. Greg told me earlier they used to have a lot of brits come over.

How did the new Rad perform? Mark. Hi Mark thats exactly what he wants an R6. My rad was cooling in the mid 60's then the last day it was climbing to just under 70 which is getting hot. The standard rad with modified cooling scoops on the bike from Kees was running high 60's and on the last day too high. This was changed for Norbos wide radiator and it was running stable at 60 all day. Both systems were running without thermostats. I don't think the bike from Kees spent much time under 8000 rpm

so 300 euro for 3 days on track apart from a fuel tanker rental what other costs Hi Marsbar, Ive just checked the cost. The track time was 350 euro's and the instruction was 180 euro's This was for 6 x 20 minute sessions x 3 days (the third day is was Knackered) The hotel cost was 150 euro's with breakfast for 4 nights The evening food was 180 euro's for 4 nights which included as much beer, coffee, water or wine as you can drink. I payed 69 euro's for pit hire for 3 days The circuit is open 24 hours a day and there were a lot people there with campers + awnings who stayed on site for free. The toilet and shower faciliteis were very clean. You also had very big teams with massive trailers. The Mahindra team for moto3 gp were also there. The groups were made up of red, green and blue Red = fast riders Green = medium riders Blue = training riders On the whole it was only one colour out on the track at a time. In the blue group nobody was allowed to over take without permission from the leading instructor. Well except for Kees the instructors made an exception for him. Later kees was riding with an instructor with the green riders or on his own. The blue group was split into 2 groups Kees an i had one instructor and four other people had one instructor. Later i think two people went with another instructor as they were faster than the other two. Free coffee, tea and water were provided over the whole time from the Doc Shop pit, every morning one of the instructors gave warm up and stretching excersizes if you wanted to participate. You can do it cheap if you camp on the circuit grounds but i wanted to mix with every one. I think they make there money in the food and hotel ect. I thought it was a lot of money but it was worth every penny. I absolutely enjoyed all the different aspects of it. Check their website out it is also written in English. Doc Shop

I can upload pictures again
Here we are stretching and warming up in the morning
This is "Fast Marky" our instructer
Kees and i following Mark and learning the circuit
Kees learning that you don't need fat tyres to go round the corner
The instructer starts to pick up the pace and Kees is still behind him
Me checking my bike over after falling off the day before
The instructors having some fun
Kees running out of ground clearance. The cure was to sit further off the bike
After being geed on by some of the crowd this happened. Big high side luckily Kees is made of rubber and he learnt a lesson!!!
The two guys who geed him on came over and apologised to him
