Rossi is an amazing rider as are all the guys who've made it to the top level of motorcycle racing. The issue is when he is hailed as the master and best at development, best at adapting, best at tyre management etc etc etc. We saw last year a man so desperate to win that 10th title that he seems to see as his right, that he invented a reason to try and manipulate the press and dorna to control Marquez's actions as he obviously thought he could force him to take on Lorenzo when Rossi himself was at times unable to, thus hoping Marquez could take points from Lorenzo and hand him the righteous 10th title he so covets. Indeed Rossi has manipulated the press and his fans to give his rivals a hard time. These carefully planned mind games have been a feature of his racing for many years and are most distasteful in a sport that is usually gentlemanly. Last year when his accusations backfired on him and Marquez went out clearly fired up and determined to beat him in Sepang, Rossi went a step too far when he ran Marquez out towards the AstroTurf. For me his behaviour was nasty and petulant to say the least and for many it spoiled the image of a MotoGP figurehead who has all the ability in the world. His actions were that of a desperate man, willing to cheat and do absolutely anything to get his way. For me this was the moment he ruined his entire reputation, unfortunately there are many fans out there not willing to see any wrongdoing in the man, he takes full advantage of this and will continue to do this until he hurts someone or himself or his maniacal fans do. Dorna should stop him before he does and get him to calm his fans down somewhat. I know he's their cash cow and brings money to the sport, what cost do they put on life?

You weren't at Sepang were you?
I was and saw the whole thing
That said I've got to chip you on Argentina, its only the second time the GP boys have been there, at least in a while
The circuit is newer to them than the likes of Jerez, Catalunya, Assen, Silverstone, Spa and the like, that's what I was meaning if you get my drift
They have a lot of knowledge of the European circuits as most of them have raced on those tracks on 125's and 250's etc

Regarding Argentina, Lorenzo doesn't like the track too much so don't expect too much of him, however if he does a repeat of Losail then it could be signs he's going to be dominant at most tracks. The European tracks do mostly suit him, particularly the Spanish tracks, Brno, Spa, Mugello and even Assen if it's dry. The newer riders may indeed know the tracks from 125, 250, moto2 and moto3 days, but it's a whole different ball game wrestling the MotoGP bikes around them. Whilst I see the Ducati boys doing well in Argentina and Mugello, I can't really see them challenging the aliens around the other tracks although I'd like to see it. It would be cool to have a gaggle of bikes vying for podiums and would prove more difficult for Rossi to employ his mind games and bullying against a crowd of riders. It's much easier for him to use his vendetta tactics against one or two riders. Ultimately I hope to see good clean but hard racing and none of the unpleasantness that marred last years championship, with Valentino's fans behaving less than drunken football fans and showing at least grudging respect for his rivals instead of their disgusting abuse like in Losail.

spot on yamman
What we want is good sensible close racing with a variety of bikes up the front
As you rightly say I doubt many will catch the aliens however at least we will have something a lot more interesting
Never really liked Lorenzo at the start of his Moto GP career, then after he was injured and he joined the commentary for a race I had a totally different opinion of him, he was brilliant, vibrant and a great sense of humour
Scott Redding was another too who was injured with his shoulder if I remember correctly, he was 19 at the time and his intuition and description of the race he was commentating on was beyond his years, an old head on young shoulders
Love it

Looked like the track was very dusty . I wonder if there's a small change in elevation making the suspension go light into turn one ? I'll be watching closely tomorrow .

Reddings rear Tyre exploded so all the tyres Michelin took have been withdrawn for a special hard tyre they shipped over just in case. So everyone racing on a rear tyre no one has tried, and traditionally Lorenzo hates, could be an interesting race. Marks showing on his body from the failed tyre

Good race today but tough going , pity about the mandatory pitstop . that decision should be left to the riders . Well done Eugene Laverty finishing in fourth . Can't wait for the next one .

Safety first, Michelin couldn't be certain that reddings tyre failure was a one off or not, so had to do the bike change, pity as it was a different race after that.

I see just because Monkey Boy has won all the key board heroes have come out to play, Every body else all went to check the back tyres but not Rossi ? Real strange that ! May be the power of VR46 has found its way to michlen to make a special tyre for him ?
Answers on a post card guys

Answers on a post card guys I'd imagine some of the riders are missing the rider aids which soften the power delivery , whereas others would have better throttle control and not shag the tyres so quickly .

Mighty Mic, the man had to be carried to his bike and custom levers on the bars for brakes and gears as his legs were knackered and rode a two stroke, not a predictable 4 stroke and murdered them. The man is a LEGEND.
