Rigga, a couple of years ago I would have said exactly the same. I had a few cranks re-conditioned by Bob Farnham. All had new Japanese rollers, TZ style big ends, and some had to hav new webs. However to my surprise, Bob said one of them didn't need rods or labyrinth seal. I must admit the rods did look good, however the seal surprised me as I would have replaced as a matter of course. He said they don't reall wear out, and some new ones are slight the wrong diameter compared to the originals. They are apparently not like a normal rubber seal. Even so that was his expert eye cast over what looked like a low mile/newish crank. This one is unknown. Jon

31k carbs anywhere around 120 to 140 quid about right, first set taking the piss, but that's eBay for you, I have a couple of sets and I'd offer them here first before even thinking about ebay if I sell them.

£25 all day....there are many more idiots out there than I thought. You would think that they would be learning what's what with the wealth of info out there, with forums...particularly this one.

I have just read a message about the clock bracket back from them to my question of:
'I assume you have made an mistake listing this item with the price?'
To which I got a reply:
'No what makes you think that'
Unbelievable ! I don't know about the bracket, but the response is priceless, even if they think the bracket is too.
I thought £250 was getting steep for U.K. clocks with the bracket but this is insane.
Furthermore there is a NOS one for £100 or offers which I still think is expensive.

Is the bit about being able to use the same piston in either side true or false? Why did Yamaha bother to mark one with an L in the first place??

Is the bit about being able to use the same piston in either side true or false? Why did Yamaha bother to mark one with an L in the first place?? RD pistons can be used in either bore. There is only 1 part number. I don’t think the ‘L’ marking means left, although I’m not sure what it does mean? It would not make sense anyway as the are essentially mirrored. There would be no reason to have one different from the other. Jon
