Hi, A few more miles tonight as it was sunny I thought I might be able to get some better clearer pics in the sunshine, but cant seem to get clear crisp pictures with a shitty old camera phone. Tonight was the first I have had a chance to get out on my LC for two weeks, due to shifts and stuff. I went down the coast, had a fish supper, took loads of pictures, watched the sunset then blasted back up the road, a pleasant evening all together. Sorry for all the pics, but everyone always says they like pics on here, I took loads trying to get a few decent ones, but im afraid this is a good as I can get them with that camera phone. My LC has got 450 miles or so on it now, and it goes fine up to about 5 1/2 thousand revs or so, so before much longer Ill take it past that and see what happens. steven.

+ 1 the more pics the better I say. Bike looks fantastic. Your LC is giving me goose bumps! I had two 350 mars bar LC's in the 80's but neither looked anything like yours.
Superb build, credit to you

Hi, Took my LC for its MOT yesterday, and drove it there, unlike last year, when I took it for its MOT in a van, after I restored it. Since last years MOT it has done.......549 miles ! .....which is a bit poor realy, I had hoped to do more miles, but the years not over, and Im sure I will manage a few more miles on it yet. So far , ALL miles have been done in the dry. For its MOT I washed and polished it, after getting a telling off from a mate for polishing my nice new tank and pannels with Pledge furnature polish ! I got a hold of some proper car polish and wax, and it came up all nice and shiney. I have never had a brand new car or bike, and am not big on polishing, as it doesnt make it go any better! But as this is the "newest" vehicle I have ever had, I thought Id better have a wee go. I encoundered a major disaster en route to the MOT station, in that the road to the village where the bike shop was, was CLOSED ! due to erosion of the main road by the River Ayr. There was no other road into the village that would have got me there in time for my MOT, so I drove through the first road closed sign, to see a barrier across the road farther round the corner, again saying road closed ! On manovering through the second barrier I saw several diggers in the river where the road used to be ! I parked the bike and walked up into the houses following a sign that said PEDESTRIANS ONLY, on a temporary wooden walk way that had been put up for the locals to get from one side of the village to the other. I realised that I would manage to get my LC up the PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY and through the houses and make my MOT on time. So...in true LC hooligan fashion, I fired up my LC and and blasted up the pedestrian walkway, round the houses, and into the MOT station, arriving bang on time. On arrival at the bike shop, one of the locals told me that quite a few bikes had been doing the same recently. Everyone in the bike shop commented on my LC, even the MOT inspectors wife was there, and she said "it looked like new, and it reminder her of the RD 125 LC she used to have, and that even the wheels were the same shape" After getting my MOT cert, I blasted back down the road in time to hear the 500cc race on the radio from the Classic TT, while sitting out the back door in the sunshine.... steven.

Hi Copper, They are supposed to be Micron ace bars, as I had fitted to my first LC, I bought a set off ebay, but when I was restoring my LC out of all the bits I bought online for it, the Micron ace bars were the only thing that got lost in the post and didnt turn up.
The bars I have on it just now were advertised to fit a BSA A65, and I got them from evilbay, I quite like them, they are not as extreme as Micron ace bars and I like the riding position. steven.

I asked as they didnt look as low as some bars...Another thing I do like about teh LC is that its comfy thing to ride for the old(er) bones..BSA bars eh?..smart choice..

Hi, Took my younge lady friend for lunch on my LC as it was nice and sunny. Thats the first time Its had someone on the back, and all went well. When we got home, she reported that it is louder than my Zed !.......which has a Harris exhaust with a competition baffle in it, and is officialy as loud as fook. I informed her that she was talking out her arse, and to return to her sink immediately, if not sooner ! Thats another 20 miles done, almost there now. steven.

Hi, I went out on Saturday afternoon, and finished off the 600 running in miles on my LC as per my Yamaha owners manual. That didnt take me long only one year and one week ! ( I checked the date at the start of this thread.) I didnt go too far and did about 40 miles, and in the sunshine as well. So far my LC hasnt been out in the rain. I did have a breakdown though, but not with my LC, it was my iphone that broke down as the battery went flat as I was taking some photos. My iphone is 3rd or 4th hand and the battery isnt too good on it, so I made a cable up so I could charge it off my LC if the iphone went flat when I was out and needed it for an emergency or to call out the breakdown folk or whatever. As I was putting the side pannel back on I heard a bike screaming up the hill towards me, I lifted my head, gave him a wave as he passed, and continued re fitting my side pannel. As soon as the bike passed me I heard it jumping on the brakes and turning round at the top of the hill to come back down to where I was parked. I presumed it was someone wanting to reminisce about LC,s, which as we all know, seems to happen a lot when we are out and about on our old 2 strokes. I didnt recognise the bike as it parked behind me, but even before the bloke took his helmet off, I recognised his face. It was a bloke that I work beside, but have never met him outside of work, he said he stopped as he recognised the LC as I had shown him some pics of it on my phone at work. He also had LC,s and X7,s etc years ago, so we stood for a while and had a blether on top of the hill in the middle of no where. It turns out he sold his "Fireplace" (Fireblade) recently and this was his new Honda CB1000R, which did look very nice indeed. Thats this thread finished, eventualy, and im delighted with my LC. Over the winter I might change my speedo for a spare that I have, as at 7 thousand revs on the flat this speedo reads 100 mph and at 30 mph it reads 40 mph on the speedo. I might also fit new exhaust gaskets, as I have nipped these ones up twice in 600 miles, and I noticed tonight when I got home that there is a minor dribble starting again from one of the pipes. I also hope to get my short can Allspeeds sorted out over the winter and get them on for next year too. Thanks very much to everyone for the kind words during this thread. Im still trying to decide what to build next, and have a few bits and pieces squirelled away, but if and when I do, I will start another thread as this one has gone on long enough. I have also added a few pics of what I may, or may not have in mind. Thanks again. Cheers. steven.

Hi there, thanks for the nice comment, yes the paint does look smart, it was the only bit I didnt do, so cant take the credit for it, it was done by Kas Racepaint and Im very happy with the paint job. I see from your other posts you are now in Canada, but come from Cumbernauld origonaly, Im in Scotland too and live in Ayrshire. My mother worked in Montreal for two years before she got married, then came home for a holiday, and met my father and didnt go back to Montreal, but she always spoke of how she loved it over there. Do you remember and reg plates from your old LC,s? I have four LC,s and going by this website, I have three Glasgow ones and one London one. The London one is the one I have on the road at the moment. www.kingkong.demon.co.uk/where/gb.htmMy Glasgow ones reg,s start......EGE.....SGB......RDS.....do they ring any bells ? It would be nice to have some history on my old LC,s. Cheers, steven.
