One bloke on this forum will squirm when he sees this. Not me by the way... Alex He will love the side panels but be equally disgusted with the fairing. Totally conflicted.

It's an original 2/4 seat. Look great and always seem to fit really well with tight shut lines, especially by the rear cowl. Only thing I would say is the foam on all these seats is much harder/firmer than standard, and could be uncomfortable if riding any great distance. Understatement of 24 goes to dusty. I sold my seat having ridden 50 miles on the IoM. I’m not particularly big 5’10 and 13 stone (ish) 😁 and it felt like I’d walked into the blue oyster bar.

They are being made in situ, they’ve only been tacked at this point.

The problem is there is no 1/12th Manx, I’ve considered doing a replica of rollie free’s Vincent record breaker. I’ve a gunze sangyo Bsa gold star metal frame etc, sold a few of my kits recently as well due to time or lack of, however still got over 60 bike kits 5 are nearly finished just need to get my arse in gear. You could do an Egli type vinnie. The only thing I never liked about Vincent’s was the seat.

Got a couple, what’s the plan? Always loved Vincents since gazing at them in verralls at Tooting Bec in the mid/late 70’s.

Thank you. I think Dusty should have been a detective. I first thought that they were copy Kawasaki mirrors. A bit of spit and polish and someone will buy them, everything will sell at the right price. Not a chance he is far too polite, well mannered and respected. That’s why he’s a moderator. Me im miserable, grumpy, skeptical and hate people!

I don’t really use social media eg FB yes there are the occasional spats on here but tbh it’s one thing about here it’s well moderated (well it is now). But we don’t tend to get bell ends on here and they never last. So if the kind of things he’s said is indicative of fb then they are welcome to it.

This was his first question? It was a totally bizarre‘conversation’ I was tired having been up at 4.30 and not home till 7pm“Question if using tz top end pistons have only 1 ring and they last only 50 miles before need changing.” My reply That’s not a question, that’s a statement/opinion. So what would you like to know? Whether I am using tz pistons? Or what pistons I am using? Or is it a statement to show me your obvious superior knowledge of my engine that you’ve never seen? His reply “Had tzs for over 25 years so if using tz pistons and single ring will need changing ever 50 miles so no good for a road bike . Your right been a ex gp mechanic and use to race tzs to.” My final reply So you start a conversation telling me I’ve fitted the wrong pistons to my bike without knowing what I’ve done then you double down by telling me you’re an ex Grand Prix mechanic and an ex tz racer therefore you’re far more insightful than I am. Do you normally send random messages to people you don’t know and have never met bragging about yourself? Please do me a favour I’ve no idea who you are, I’ve no idea what you are and it appears no one else on the rd Lc forum has heard of you either. So please go and bother someone else. Thank you.

No idea but he has told me my bike is crap because it has tz pistons fitted (it doesn’t) that he is an ex gp mechanic and racer never heard of him and that I should be grateful for his advice and knowledge. A total Walter Mitty by the sounds of things.

The secret is to have loads, it still hurts like f##k but you’ve others that keep you going, wife and I have normally between 3 to 6 dogs at a time. I still miss all those that have passed, all are special ( he says with two spanners asleep on the bed beside me). My mate in his 70’s knows should anything happen we will have his pup. Dogs are life savers, and prior to being diagnosed with ptsd it was my dogs that kept me going. They understood when no one else did, they never judged and always listen. Look after yourself buddy. 👍

I’m teasing Jon. Tbh once we had new carpet etc they were banished outside of the house. Although I did enjoy riding the bikes through the front door down the hallway and into my man cave. (Which is the biggest room in the house after the kitchen 😁👍

Looks great. The only problem today with the older kits is the fact they come with 30yr old plus rubber. 👍😁

Great pic, have you done the rd500 standard? Yes it is standard. Got 3 of them, 1 I’ll do standard, 1 as the bike Parrish raced and another as a special. They aren’t a bad kit. Look forward to the pics 👍

Thanks lads. It is unique and there in lies the problem, limited market who will probably see the price of everything but not the value. I may try it just to see. If it goes great if not? It isn’t the end of the world. I’ve never owned a bike as long. It appreciate all the advice and help lads. 👍
