Hi.. 1985 31k NI restoration... Can anyone recommend any decent powder coaters in the Wiltshire area? I'm willing to travel for a decent job,but not hundreds of miles away!! Also stupid question..colour of the black to get the frame coated..gloss? Cheers Nick

Hi, probably too far away, but I always use Microblast in Windsor. They have done about 4 frames for me now, plus loads of bits, wheels etc. They always heat cast parts up first to try and release as much of the air trapped in the casting before they apply the powder, to reduce the risk of bubbling up once the powder is baked on. I don't know if that is standard practice, but I have always been very happy with the results, and I am quite fussy I always go for gloss on my frame, but then I don't want a standard finish. My Lc2 has a satin frame and that looks nice too, so it's up to you. Regards Dusty

Hi Dusty..
Thanks for that, not a million miles away but if they do a good job and the price is right then it's worth the travel. What was the standard colour on the frame,do you know?
Cheers Nick

I use these www.redditchshotblasting.co.uknever had a problem with them yet and used them on three builds! They are bikers themselves which helps when masking areas up, I have been told that they will re-coat anything your not happy with too
