I don't know lads. At the end of the day.
Something is only worth what someone else will pay for it.
As stuff gets harder to get it does go silly but that's life.
I sold the mint top fairing and bellypan off a 31k recently for the £200 i was offered for it. I was hardly gonna tell him to give me less.
People desperate enough for scarce stuff will not f**k about and just pay big bucks to get it.

I certainly think the 31K is inflated at £2600........many..many..many have recently only commanded £1500 tops.... As for the screen, like said before...If its your one remaining item required or you have damaged your own then why not raid your piggy bank...... dickbrains yeh,, but plenty about....gully seat admirers spring to mind .

I tell them i dont care what they do i dont do e bay so go for it. if people are silly anough to pay daft money for stuff thats up them . No one is ripping them of they are ripping them selvs of i say as no one is asking for that money they are offering it .

It's supply and demand people....supply and demand. Don't understand why some folk get on there soap boxes about it really, you could just keep rolling back the argument to why on earth would anyone want to spend ANY money on a 30 year old two stroke? Don't see any REASONABLY priced Nos parts being offered on any of these forums..do you? No because people get what they can for them, can't blame anyone for that. All I know is that my little collection keeps steadily going up in value, not that I want I want to sell them now but I suppose one day I wil.

I agree, rare parts are worth whatever people are willing to pay. "classic" cars and bike from the eighties are starting to go up in value, so the parts are too.
What amazes me is that so many parts are still available form Yamaha and people are still paying over the odds for half knakered 2nd hand bits.

I had one of these bikes unmolested back in '83 and can say that I honestly have no recollection of there being a Yamaha logo within the visor. The emblem 29L-28338-10 NYB was definitely present but other than this I'm now questioning my own thoughts regarding authenticity. Anyone have any ideas/thoughts as I know my '83 bikini visor had the usual etched 31k markings within its perimeter? Supporting periodic pictures would be fantastic There are / were 2 types of screens available on these bikes 1 had a YAMAHA logo in the black area and the other didn't. It is very authentic for sure and very expensive too.
