How can you hide them? I just came up with a great idea. We all (almost anyways) have petrol tanks inside our houses to prevent rust, but they are quite a b*****d to hide. So what do you do? You could simply dress the tank in a pillowcase and store it directly on the bed. Nobody would ever notice it's there until they actually try to use it as a pillow! You can use your car too, store all kinds of parts under the seat, in the trunk etc. Another thing would be to dig a secret hole in the basement with a well-hidden hatch in the wall, or why not in the floor? This does take some effort though but some people love to dig holes even if the holes are completely useless. Imagine if you had a secret 5x5 m bunker in there, wow, how many parts you could hide away! Perfect time killer if the 3rd world war comes too, just sit in your secret bunker and polish/sort out bike parts all day long. Any more tips & tricks?

Ha,good thread. Having exactly this problem at the moment restoring a TS100ER. Got a pile of wet'n'dry paper stashed under some magazines beside the computer desk and finished work early every day this week so I can sneak some bits in and polish them in the lounge and hoover up before she gets home. It's been too cold in the garage. (Trouble is if I'm home alone sat by the computer,it's not always just bike parts that end up getting polished)

put it in the loft Oh FFS don't let the cat out the bag, she might read this and then go and look Luckily got a garage with a pitched roof so all sorts hidden up there, it's sneaking stuff in by post that's the problem, he always turns up with a big box when she's in. Can't blame much more on "parts for work" Steve

just say listen my darling you know i love you but this is my hobby and i also love it, i promise i won't keep my spares in your kitchen or anywhere near the ironing board if she's not happy with this compromise tell her to pack her matchbox and clear off job sorted no problem ps that explains why i'm single but at least i know if i put something down it wont move until i'm ready to move it, also the dining table is the ideal size and height for rebuilding engines ;D ;D

dont know what you guys are on about. i earn 'vouchers' by doing jobs around the house, decorating etc, taking her to ikea and i earn bike vouchers that i usualy use on a sunday evening as she is cooking dinner ;D and she buys most of the bits for my bikes anyway. storage wise i use the loft!
top tip, get a decent misses. give and take boys, give and take ;D

Mine stays out of the garage, and it's not too cold and it's nice and dry in there! Parts arriving is a bit of an issue! A set of 12 inch alloys for the mini turned up the other day, even though I had no money and the car is a shell needing floor panels welded in etc etc
