Im trying to check the setting on the oil pump, Haynes says to run engine then stop when pump at top of its stroke and measure with a feeler guage.
Think it says should be 0.20 at end of stroke but i for the life of me cant get it to stop before it closes the gap again.
Ive tried turning it over by the flywheel but obviuosly doesnt turn the engine enough to start the pump stroke. Is there an easier way than this or am i just being tick! (250 lc)

Take the plugs out then turn the flywheel with a socket, takes a while but it's the easiest way I know unless you take the casing off

Kick the bike over (not literally ;D) so you know which way it spins & turn it the same way with the rachet.

On my LC2 I find that with the engine ticking over I can just see the pump plunger move in and out with my hand on the kill switch and get it so its out to it's limit. I usually do this a couple of times to make sure it's at it's maximum .Tone
