Hi guys. im after sum advice/info a m8 at work has been offered a well tidy Kh 250 for £1800. i said to him get it but watch the centre piston as im sure they had problems with melting them Am i right? if so are there any mods to do to the bike to sort this Cheers

Removing the centre piston prevents this problem ;D I used to have a KH and never heard of this happening I suppose if you let the barrels get clogged up with shit the centre one would over heat.

I had a KH250 years ago and spent my whole life with the bike carrying around spare plugs and a wrench as the centre pot would always foul up. I developed asbestos hands as well ;D ;D Forgot to add that my local bike shop has a mint one thats been rebuilt with loads of NOS and they want £5,500 for it

i bought an M reg KH in 1982 with a "knackered engine" turned out middle pot was siezed, a new set of rings for the middle pot and a rub round the bore with emery paper ran around on it for about 8 months with no problems sold it for 6 times what i paid for it. Result...... wish it was that easy now
