one of my neighbours stopped me this morning while i was walking my dog to tell me that when i have my bike running in the garage (4LO) it affects his tv, picture and sound. the thing is he's 5 doors away! checked with most of my other neighbours and my own tv and its all fine. he said as soon as i turned it off it was fine. any ideas?

If you've not got resistors in either your plug caps or plugs (plugs will have an "R" in the number if they do), then it can cause this. In our last house where we were on a busy road, when kids used to go past on their twist-and-go peds it used to stop our Freeview box ;D

you used to ba able to get in line supressors too, just cut the ht lead between coil n plug cap and screw them in. in the mid 70's a guy in my street complained about one of my rd's doing it to his telly,he worked in a garage so he got me a couple for nowt, he still complained after i got them (maybe cos i didnt fit them) so i said it must be your telly 2 weeks later he's on the roof fitting a new ariel, guess what no more problems, jobs a good un ;D ;D hahahahah

He will have a loose connection, Damaged coax or similar, probably on the roof at at guess, some older bikes 2 or 4 stroke will cause him grief, but unlikely a car will. THe main thing is if it was down your bike everyone's tv would be affected.
