I got a freshly bored and ported top-end with my pile of bits.
its at +.75 and there are a couple of .75 pistons with it, but they are both used - now they fit with OK clearances, so I was thinking of purchasing a new pair of pistons - I dont hold with putting old shite back in new bores.
How do I identify the make - Ive had this problem with my aircooled too - I cant seem to find the markings everyone says the pistons have.
what I can see is...
inside the exhaust face there are "GI 415 " AND AN ARROW with 20956 and another arrow on the other side
behind the inlet side there is what looks like "a 83" then on the other side ther appears to be a logo whith a dimple each side of it - its exactly the same logo as on my unidentified A/C piston
what are these pistons?? can anyone supply pictures of the markings inside the different types??
thanks
Alex

One of the ones I have is Ok to re-use, the other has a lot of scuffs and sieze-markings on it and Id rather not put it in a nice new bore!
OK looks like im going to have to fork out to the one place that appears to have a stock of them!
(if one of my contacts at Hepolite doesnt turn one up - fingers crossed)
