basically could i use the either crank in either engine. ;D ;D Not without modification. As far as I know the outer webs are wider on YPVS cranks and would need machining to fit an LC. Bearings also different.

You can machine a YPVS crank to fit an LC without modifying the cases.

Yeah, a few hours of machining doesn't really seem worth it in retrospect, unless you fancied dropping in a balanced +4mm stroker crank.
Now that might be worth it, although probably have to trench the cases then?

Why? machine the crank.. as it's a Very simple task to machine LC cases to take a Valvie crank. And Yes... Some LC cases ..DO.. take the valvie crank. Yama made more than a few odd production runs, sometimes fitting LC cranks into RZ's and RZ cranks into LC's. Seemingly depends on how close to Japan the target market was.

Why?
Well, you can currently buy a YPVS crank (+4mm stroker too)already machined to fit straight into 4L0 cases (UK ones) so the Why? part would be that there would be NO machining required by the purchaser of said crank.
You could then also fit a standard crank back into the standard cases if you so wished, or if you decided to go back to standard at a later date.
Obviously you would need to weigh up the price differential of machining the crank or the cases and decide whether you don't mind committing to using YPVS cranks evermore.
