Whenever i actually get round to building my hybrid i will be ditching the std 4L0 clocks for probably a vapor dash.
From the info i can find on them the do speed, tacho, temp,
Does this dash record mileage.
If not.
Is there an alternative dash that does record the mileage as i'm sure MR MOT would not be impressed if non on it?
Thanks in advance.

Got one fitted to mine, anything you need to know just ask Yes they do record milage & it has trip meter as well, also records max revs, max temp, max speed, has built in change up light & over rev warning light, clock & the outer consul takes 4 idiot lights for oil, indicators, neutral & high beam.

Nice one. The plan is to fit them to the rgv usd yoke using the bracket NK does for them. Dumb Q time. Would i be right in saying that i connect the idiot lights wire of the vapor to the original plug of my 31k loom. Cheers

Yeah you can do it that way but you need the plug off an old clock loom to connect to. With the idiot lights you get a set of LEDs & normal bulbs. Indicator light you have to use the bulb, connect as original. If you use an LED it will not work. Oil light you have to use the bulb, connect as original. If you use an LED it won't go out. Neutral light, use LED connect as original. High beam, use LED connect as original. Tacco, run a wire from the + side of the coil plus an earth, this plugs straight in the back of the Vapor. Temp guage, in the kit the one you get is inline in one of the hoses, I found them all to short to cut so I unscrewed the sender from the fitting and made a reducer & screwed it straight in the head. This plugs straight into the Vapor. Power, this requires a perminent supply so fit an inline fuse close to the battery or fuse box, the lead plugs straight into the back of the Vapor. Speedo, if you are fitting floating discs, Araldite the magnet into one of the rivet holes & drill & tap a thread into the caliper carrier to fit the pick up. The cable plugs straight into the back of the Vapor. You need to input the circumference of your front wheel, I used a material tape measure for this, like dress makers use (nicked it off the wife, honest ) The magnet has the red ring round it & the pick up is the black rectangle in front of the caliper.

There is the R1 dash as well of course...
I heard bad things about the quality of the Koso, but to be honest ive never held one in my hands. There are a a few other options out there how about the motogadget stuff? thats what i am looking at for a future project.

I'm fitting the R1 dash to my present build ;D the Vapor is by far the cheaper option, you need a speed healer which is the same price as a Vapor plus the R1 speedo, temp sender, speed sensor, relay etc

I have become of fan of large speed digits... i dont have enough licence to be wondering what speed im doing when I see the cops these days
