Hi all, just about to start refuring my 5/8 front brake master cylinder for my LC / YPVS rebuild. Just a couple of questions please ;D Is this a common cylinder fitted to both the LC 350 and LC2 It's just before i order the bits from Norbo, want to make sure i get the right ones. Also going to pop it in the bench blasting cabinet, whats it like getting the viewing glass out - is it going to be more trouble that its worth - ie do they leak afterwards Cheers Paul. Will hopefully post a new rebuild thread as soon as the wife replaces the 4th broken camera in the last 6 months - I'm sure i would get off with it .

Was thinking around those lines too, but can't afford the original Yam one mate, but could stretch to the pattern one with the F2 type brake switch fitted - suppose you just make up a fly lead to connect direct into the LC loom.

Don't Bother! Buy/use the LC250 1/2" bore master cylinder. Yes! it's a serious improvement.

Cheers for that bare, something else to consider, and they cost a lot less - like it . So the brakes if fitted to a 350 would be improved ?.

No, well not in outright braking performance/stopping distances/fade etc.
It will make it feel different, whether you prefer the feel is another story altogether.

Depends really on the state of the existing M/C and lines, you can use the lower spec 1/2 in M/C and replace the front lines for braided, you can refurb the one you have, I wouldn't blast a M/C personally I would nitromors it by hand and spray with PJ1 from a rattle can but if the sight glass is cloudy then I'd probably do as Gaz suggests and pop a new non Yam one in, I think a M/C refurb kit is £25 plus the time taken to prep and spray etc, swings and roundabouts in the end.

Cheers for all the input chaps, mentioned by master cylinder problem at work earlier this week to a couple of work colleagues and a chap from another part of the factory phoned me up today about a 5/8 Yamaha pattern cylinder thats he's had lying around in his shed for a year of too - couple of slight chips in the paintwork here and there, but apart from that, as good as new - £15 and the deal was done. I'm a very happy chap, i think with the money I've saved i may go for a nice polished top off Norbo .
