Hi i cleaned and coated the inside of my tank with flowliner just to be on the safe side as it was a good solid tank but now find after having fuel in there for about a month the coating has started to lift .Any one have any idea whats happened ? or have any magic tips for getting the shit back out ? Thanks for any help or advice once again.

Have a look at the Tankcareproducts website they do a petseal remover which is similar to the flowliner. Tone.

like Martin says...POR15 is the recommended stuff these days I finally plucked up the courage to do my LC2 tank before christmas... However...if it is Flowliner from Wildes....leeds area then that is certainly the first time i have heard any complaints from that particular product.....

I have read people having problems with flowliner before.
To be honest, if a tank wasn't leaking then I wouldn't bother with any liners, but 5 years ago I had a tank sand blasted then painted. It wasn't until I fitted it and put petrol in it that I realised there was a small pinprick in the bottom.
After having a fresh paintjob and new decals all laquered in, weldind it would have been an expensive option.
Drained it, flushed it out and left it to dry out for a week then poured in some POR15 and it's been fine ever since, no probs at all.
POR15 is the only one I would use as I've yet to read anybody say it's shit.

Totally agree with the Por 15, it's a US product where there has been ethanol in fuel for years. I have sealed a non leaking tank that only had some surface rust. My attitude was that it was totally dent free and although only looking like surface rust did not want to run the risk of paying £200 to get it painted and not knowing if a leak would appear at a thin spot years later when tanks are even rarer. Out of ignorance I used Petseal on my first build a couple of years ago & it stayed intact all the time I had the bike maybe just lucky I guess, wouldn't use it now though.

I put the stuff in a couple of years back as was having it painted and didn't want to find a leak after .I did have a good read up at the time and it seemed to be a problem free product so i can only surmise that its lifted due to the change in petrol additives since that time .Could even be that i messed up with the preparation but as i said it was a really good tank to start with so feck knows. Thanks very much for the website tone i ll have a look now .

I have had a similar problem with the por15, I have done 3 tanks in the last 3 years, followed all instructions with the marine clean and metal ready and two have lot go!! I do use avgas from time to time as they are all race bikes, would this make a difference?? It is a real pain after having them stripped and painted for this to happen, just do not know what I have been doing wrong
