Am I correct in thinking that the thread is different on some/all YPVS heads compared to LC?
I'd heard that but don't know if it's correct.

Pretty sure all YPVS heads are M10 x 0.75 taper thread which is standard for most Yamaha's. I'm fitting R1 clocks to mine & the R1 temp sender has the same size thread Looking at the diagram above it looks as if the sender unit may have a different thread as there is a sealing washer below but if it's the same size you are welcome to the spare one I have, I can make you an adaptor as well.

seem to remember pv has a tapered thread where the lc has a straight thread and uses a sealing washer
