I've been having difficulty getting my bike to run on the choke; it will start just fine from cold without it, but as soon as i pull the choke the engine dies. When i removed the choke to clean it up, i snapped the cable. can anybody tell me where i can get a replacement?
Cheers Brian

Sorry Tout,
Wasn't thinking when i was typing. It's a 95 350R (twin), with the choke knob (thingy) mounted on the fairing infill.

Have managed to locate a replacement cable, fingers crossed it might be with me in the New Year . The bloke at my local Yamaha Dealer said the bike shouldn't start without the choke pulled too. So today I refitted the choke plunger spring and retainer; then tried to start the bike. It fired up second kick and settled at about 1000rpm; from this I take it my carbs are set up completely wrong? Do you think the carbs just need setting up, or is it worth me taking them apart to check that are jetted right etc first? It’s got the standard air box with piper cross filter, and standard pipes with the restrictors removed. While I'm at it, I've been told that my carbs (4CE) are restrictive and it's worth fitting a set from an older bike. If this is the case which are best and how much do they go for?
